Just to be clear, are we saying an editor is needed or not? ??

Yes.

It is needed if you want to use the KPA to its full potential.
If you are one of those many, many, many players who just came from a one/two-channel tube amp with a wah and a TS the Kemper OS1 will still be an overkill..
Now..lets look at the sales numbers out there and lets guess which of these two groups are the majority..shall we?

This is such BS. As if the last 8 years of Kemper owners have left something on the table. Which they have not.
Sales numbers mean exactly squat. -
At this point I could care less about need -vs- want. It does not matter what other companies offer either. What matters is that the editor was announced almost a year ago and need it or not it will simplify workflow if you decide to use it. For those of us like myself that are using the new stage unit it is going to be a huge convenience. I personally have mine mounted on a 34" long pedal board and not likely to ever get that up on my desk to work on. If I had a toaster I would not care as much about an editor but I have a stage unit.
Many people like myself have come from other platforms, I used to be a Helix user and you dont really need an editor for that either but I dont like sitting on the ground to adjust things. Endless hours of sitting on the ground to tweak things is a huge reason why I am now a Kemper user. I dont spend nearly as much time on the ground as I did with the Helix but it would be nice to do things like setup effects without having to be on the ground.

Shroedinger's editor. It could be done and available, it couldn't be. Either are possible, and I don't know until I open this thread....
-
For me I need the editor So my unauthorized Kemper
Purchase can remain hidden under my desk! Lol
just saying !Not that my use case validated anything what so ever ! Or adds anything to the argument... but I am pushing my luck and will be found out soon lol....
but it’s fun watching the to and fro on this forum its a great distraction ! And some good points on all sides.... -

Sales numbers mean exactly squat.Of course, one doesn't need Rig Manager either.

Sales numbers mean exactly squat.I guess it depends on how you define full potential. For chucks and giggles, please tell us how you use it to its full potential?

Show me a functionality the editor will bring that isn't currently available directly on the unit. Or using Rig Manager as-is. (edit for nit-picking).
Getting 'everything' out of the unit is possible as-is. -

Please delete all rigs beginning with the letter X directly on the unit. Time start.

Yi! Yi! Yi! as I patiently wait

Fixed it.

That's exactly it. Performance and convenience. You can do this much faster if you work with a PC and an editor. You can view parameters on one screen and you don't have to reach beyond the desk to change something. That's all it is about. If someone does not understand this means that they do not work with PC and music. And that's ok. Just don't get why people say that you don't need an editor because you don't need it . I don't know how to put it more simply.

"Full potential" defined as what functions are possible now vs after the editor = NADA
When you begin discussing convenience and efficiency, you delve into use cases, preferences etc. I also *NEVER* said the editor wasn't needed. You won''t find me saying that. For me is it needed? No. Not for my use case. Others (especially Stage owners) will certainly feel otherwise.
Do I want it? You bet. I've always said that. -

Let go. People are diverse. Some need an editor, some don't. (And there are those who need a sense of humor.)

Yea - but this is a topic about the editor - and people who say that the editor is not necessary participate. I understand this topic on the basis of what you would like to see for functionality in the editor. Instead, the topic is filmed about why I don't need an editor. If you don't need it - just don't install it, forget about it and do not even look into this thread. WTF do you care?

I KNOW....LET’S KEEP REHASHING THE SAME ARGUMENTS FOR ANOTHER 135 PAGES!

If ever there was a thread that belonged in the Drama Zone this is it ?
