I'm no studio musician so take it with a grain of salt, but maybe 8" studio monitors aren't the best way to demo rigs?

Michael Britt’s Instagram story is teasing a video with Tone Junkie with a mk2 remote. Have to imagine we’re getting close and they’re planning a big 2.0 release video
I am not seeing that. Can you post a link?

The improved dynamic properties and additional level of detail etc. introduced with the V2 Profiler don’t really carry over in any meaningful way when you load a V2 profile into a Profiler MK1. In practice, the improvements are probably negligible from a technical point of view.
That said, there is still a distinction between a V1 profile and a V2 profile (in an MK1), since they are created using different processes. I wouldn’t necessarily call one “better,” though, because that’s hard to quantify. A useful analogy might be asking a painter to create two pictures of the same subject using different sets of crayons of similar quality. The results may differ slightly in character, but neither is objectively superior (on MK1).
I realize the comparison is somewhat abstract, but it’s the closest way to describe the nuance I can think of.
For us, one strong reason to allow importing a V2 rig into an MK1 is compatibility. It ensures that MK1 users can continue to benefit from future V2 rigs uploaded to Rig Exchange. I’m confident there will be plenty of great-sounding new rigs that MK1 users can enjoy. Regardless of whether all aspects, such as enhanced dynamics, translate perfectly.
Thank you for clarifying this for us - it's good information and definitely helpful in understanding what the impact and options are for moving forward with the product and technology. I can't speak for anyone else, but pending some current personal milestones, I'll most likely be investing in an MK2 within the calendar year and keep my MK1 as a backup rig solution. Thanks to said milestones, I'm not in any hurry as they take priority, but I do look forward to seeing and hearing more when the profiling becomes available.

Better is the wrong term here imo. Because it is totally subjective. Some may come to the conclusion they like mk1 better. The question for a profiling tool is: Will 2.0 be more accurate. And if so, can mk1 users still profit from better 2.0 profiling.
I think you might be splitting hairs and possibly even intentionally ignoring the context, while mischaracterizing what and why I chose the language that I did. If G String can say 'will sound with a lower quality' - which is totally subjective - and you don't question or correct him, your objectivity and deliberate ignorance of the context comes across as disingenuous. Just sayin'...
-
Yes - You can load V2 Profiles but the will sound with a lower quality on a Profiler MK1.
Yes, but will V2 Profiles running on a Profiler MK1 sound better than V1 Profiles running on a Profiler MK1? That is the real question MK1 owners are asking.

This is a real question for me. How is ranking achieved? I am definitely a newbie but I love the whole Kemper ease of rigs and tone creating.
Most likely either based on # of posts, # of reactions received, or a combination of both. Has nothing to do with familiarity or level of expertise with the unit itself.

This is the original recording for the second video (the plexi comparison). The file is a WAV 48k/24bit
Thanks! Just now seeing this but didn't want you to think I was not appreciative.

YouTube audio is not lossless and introduces compression artifacts. The amount of compression can vary depending on factors such as the quality and speed of your internet connection and playback conditions. As a result, what you hear may differ from what someone else hears.
Most people know this yet you see folks saying they can hear the difference playing a youtube video on their phone.

If it were me, and I wanted to impress or sway the 'potential target audiences', I would provide a lossless format audio file that could be downloaded and played on studio quality monitors.

I just watched The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly yesterday.

Back when I played rugby in college, used to blast the theme song from 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly' on a boombox when we stepped out on the rugby pitch - sort of like New Zealand's Haka...

John Mayer just posted a strong endorsement of the Neural DSP and he is known to have used a Kemper for practice on tour. You might want to take a look there before you pull the trigger - I know I will. I have an MK I but I think I may hold off a bit longer and compare the two when the time comes that I am ready to commit.

-
I wonder if you could try a parallel path routing (never have myself) with the rotary effect on both sides but each with different speeds? I also wonder why I never have these ideas when I am at home, in my basement studio, with the Kemper right in front of me...

-
'Convince you?' Nah. Do your homework. Make a decision. Rinse and repeat.

Sounds like OP didn't actually load the LP in question...?

I don't know if this will help or not (I cannot listen at work). He might even be lurking for all I know...

Very nice acoustic mood... you can catch a glimpse of the Kemper in the lower right behind Tony during the introductions. Maybe a few other times...

Hey, Kemper; can we get an update on what's going on, please? Summer is over, and it's quite chilly here in London.
Sock puppet?
