This is my current RIG. Stage and GR55 (under pedals). All wireless guitar and gr . 2 top pedals are for and pitch , lower is for gr55.

The pitch-range logic has been updated in the current Boss OC-5, with additional features. It works well, too, without needing a hex pickup.
What if you play above the 4th fret on the d string, doesn’t the pitch go back up the octave

I’m pretty sure, to do what you ask, you would need a hex pickup and guitar synth unit.
