Can anyone recommend a good volume pedal that doesn’t break the bank?

Dunlop DVP 3. It's not cheap but you can use it for volume and expression.
-
Try a search for “Expression” instead - most people use expression pedals with the KPA, because the pedal can be used for more than just volume.

+1 for the DVP3. I replaced an Ernie Ball with it.
I use it as an expression with the remote, usually set for volume. Love it. -
Another Dunlop DVP-3 User here.

Thanks for the recommendations. Unfortunately the Dunlop is too expensive for me.
I’ll have a look at the Zoom. Looks like a great price. -
Have a look at the Moog EP-3 pedal, too. It's a good pedal and very inexpensive.

The Morley M2 Mini expression pedal worked great for me before I upgraded to an FCB1010. These retailed for around $50 last year. Bulletproof steel enclosure. Totally passive design. If you were in the US, BjornNilsson, I'd sell you mine.

Yes, I've worked these for a while and they are great as well. A bit high for my taste but great action.

The Moog looks great indeed and is still within my price range. Thanks

Boss EV-5. Is inexpensive and works great

+1 for the Moog.
I have 2, work flawlessly and very affordable.
I have sprayed my Kemper green for the full effect

Unfortunately I cannot recommend a Dunlop DVP-3 (with 4 year warranty). I had to return it twice times (!) with issues in the travel and loosing rubber after 1 year (sold it). I went back to the most reliable hardware: Mission EP-25 Pro Aero black. The pedal has a long enough, smooth travel and 2 Outputs.

+1 for the Moog !

I presume you are looking for an Expression pedal to control volume rather than an analog volume pedal?
Pretty much anything will work. The main differences are in physical strength and pedal travel. If you need it for regular gigging and/or have feet like a hippo doing ballet then go for a full metal casing like the Boss EV500. However, if you are careful or just using it in the house any cheap plastic pedal will work fine. I have a little Zoom pedal as well as my EV500 and Mission EP1. It cost me £11 used and works just fine. The only one I don’t like is the Mission which I find totally useless for anything other than Wah.

I have a Dunlop DVP 3 in my junk box. Worst pedal I ever bought. It doesn’t stay in the heel down position and is loose. I’ve tried every adjustment, tips and tricks I could find to no avail. Totally useless. I had to go back to my analog Ernie Ball volume pedal. Does anyone with this pedal have any advice on how to make this pedal useable because it would save setup time for me to be able to plug the Dunlop right into my Remote expression jack with a short patch cable rather than run another long guitar cable to my Kemper from the Ernie Ball pedal?
