Hi all!
So, I needed something to play guitar and bass with at home. I need to record guitars and bass at home (in an apartment building). I also wanted to make my live guitar setup a bit more simple: I have guitar output -> Tuner -> Boss NS -> Savage 120 -> G-major (in Savage's effects loop) AND to control it FCB1010 -> G-major -> MIDI Switcher -> Savage 120. And all I get with all these cables is the quite old and digital sounding effects from G-major and the amp channel switching via midi.
Just got my PowerHead two days ago.
I have used Engl Savage 120 for a four years now, so I can quite confidently say that I really feel the amp. I haven't profiled the amp yet with my own settings, but I downloaded a few Savage profiles and they sound amazing! I have read that Kemper is able to maintain the "feel" of the amp, and even if I had my hopes up, I still am surprised how well it mimics the behaviour of the amp. The profiles I downloaded were really heavy on gain and when I rolled it out it didn't quite match the behaviour of Savage gain knobs (of course), but with minor tweaks it worked really well. Can't wait to make DI and conventional profiles with just the settings I have learned to love!
All in all, I haven't been more excited about any guitar stuff in many years! My fingertips are killing me, because I have just played (I thought that I would just be tweaking and tweaking, but I actually want to play!). The minor downside of this things is that if it breaks down or I lose it, I believe I must have a new one instantly, doesn't matter if I have the money or not.
