Hey guys,
hope you’re all well!
Here’s a link to the Profiles I made in my comparison video recently. I’ve added a few bits to them, but they’re the ones from that video.
cheers

Thanks. Very nice of you Rabea.
I watched your video (and the original one as well) and I had the impression that you did not spend much time refining the profiles to match the source on your 2nd video. I assume that when you do commercial profiles, you may spend a bit more time trying to make the resulting profiles as close as possible to the source with more refining a tweaking. This is same thing that most people do when they create profiles on their own.
I understand that the QC automates all this process for you. This is something that I always thought the Kemper should have done from the beginning but since we already know that the Kemper process is different, and benefits from it, if you don't it with the Kemper, you are obviously not going to get a result as accurate in some cases.
Having said that. I got an question for you, if you don't mind. Don't you think that by not taking some additional time refining/tweaking (few minutes) the comparison may not have been completely fair? What was your logic behind that?
I think he made it as fair as he could, within the limits of his studio and the time spent.
Thanks for sharing, RabeaAfro
It seems that I am not the only one that noticed it.
thanks a lot.
Thank you RabeaAfro !

are these new or old profiles?
Thank you, Rabea!
Thanks RabeaAfro much appreciated. I look forward to playing around with these later.
Thank you
Just tried them out and they all sound really nice. A few questions though Bea:
Were you using the Studio EQ in Stomp A for the VX100 G2 rig in the comparison? If so why?
Was the Compressor on in the VX100 Clean example?
Why are all of the rigs set with the Rig Volume Maxed out? I nearly blew me head clean off when I played the first chord

He wrote that he "added a few bits to them". I guess that would mean the Stomps and tweaks...? RabeaAfro

That’s what I assumed too but they are engaged by default so wanted to check.
Still can’t understand the max boost on the rig volume though. That would seem to ru. The risk of running out of headroom and either clipping or introducing some for of digital compression/limiting which could easily account for a less than natural feel.

If I remember correctly, he mentioned in the comparison video that the profiles came out very quiet, so that he had to strongly raise the volume.
But when all others now notice the volume is way exaggerated, this may indicate an error in his setup?? There has to be a reason that he fights a volume drop that maybe in reality isn't there for others? Or in his profiling setup is a gain staging problem? So what caused it? Had this any impact on the tone we're hearing in the video?
Yes, the profiles are unbearably loud. On my KPA I had to turn the gain down about 12db. The way they were saved was pushing my Output light Amber on quite arts and Red on heavier playing. I don't know what the issue was but there definitely seems to be something wrong a Bea's end. I don't know if it was a gain staging issue going in or on the playback side but something was amiss somewhere.
