Definite beach-cliffs vibe brother.
I was imagining a film clip in my mind's eye all the way through.
Noice.

If I ask dumb questions please don't laugh LoL ~ Cindy
You'll be treated with respect here Cindy; don't worry about it.
You must feel like a kid in a candy store. I totally get it sis'.
Congrats Brother Bertie.
Yeh, dub tends to be more groove oriented, but reggae is often very complex and melodic, all those Pete Tosh records.
Big fan of Peter Tosh, especially the Bush Doctor album.
Saw him live when I was 13. My parents were reticent about letting me go to the gig alone, which I did of course, 'cause none of my friends shared my "mature" music tastes.
Sounds the biz bro'.
The genre's usually not as melodic as what you just did IMHO and that can't be a bad thing, surely?
Good, catchy vibe in this one brother.
I really like that you left all that space for other stuff by keeping the rhythm part "short".
But I like my crutches Monkey_Man it's all crutch!
Now that is funny bro'.
Then again copying or moving it from the Documents folder to wherever you like is only a few clicks and not much different from if you'd downloaded it to your Downloads folder.
... and the mix is all-the-better-for-it IMHO bro'.
Could hear all the elements on the ol' CrapMac™ speaker, so it's a win... as it is every time, from my end.
In deference to Monkey_Man and Steve Albini's shared distaste at compression and effects, I've left this one unmastered.
I've got nothing against compression and effects; just don't like their being overdone is all.
As for mastering, nothing wrong with that either of course.
The problem I have is the way both compression and "mastering" are used as crutches, in order to "bring everything up-to-level" and smashing things to smithereens.
Thanks Monkey_Man trying to get that 70’s Flora Purim and 90’s Paul Weller Wildwood era etc vibe thing. Wish I could play the keys and bass better, to really nail this stuff you have to care a lot more about tone and articulation than I do.
Just slow it down and play the MIDI in, then massage the note data.
Bit of a standout this one Brother Per.
Classy man.
Delinquent love Greg!
The dude can do almost anything on geetar.
Thanks Monkey_Man ! Tbh I feel like I’m locked in a quagmire or mediocre not very original right now. One of those plateaux on the journey, hopefully I’ll figure out what needs to change and how to achieve it to up the game soon.
Yup, I've noticed patterns too brother. It happens to all of us mate; we're not always-original-creation machines.
The lead in the background of the new one sure has some tasty bits in it.
Super-catchy again bro'.
You wouldn't believe it, but I hear echoes of that same song again, only much-less-so this time.
Well-done Brother Per. Catchy.
Don't worry; I'll scream blue murder if you blatantly rip someone off bro'.
I’m not too bothered by it tbh as chordal harmonies aren’t owned by Cockney Rebel, but good catch.
Definitely no need to be bothered by it of course; it just reminded me strongly of that section is all.
