I love the Kemper, already got the powered toaster and the stage. Effects are pristine but the univerb clone. It just does not sound right. Not enough depth or too much. You can learn a lot about this sound from Roger Mayer or even the Helix. Please, take the time to program a new one that does not sound like a freakin fazer. ?that would make it the perfect machine! thank you so much in advance!
Univibe, we desperately need a decent one....

I agree, the univibe should be deeper.

but, the Uni-Vibe IS a phaser...
-
A little searching will reveal a filter setting that does a pretty decent UV sound... good luck.
I'm definitely a UV junkie as well.
-
Yes I agree the univibe tone is a bit off. Please re-visit this.
Kemper ROCKS!

Filter that sounds like a univibe
It's not perfect but is close enough for my needs. That said, yes it would be terrific for Kemper to re-visit this effect and make improvements.

Yes it is Don but it’s also a very unique sound that isn’t really like a typical phaser.
I don’t use the Vibe effect on the KPA at all as it doesn’t sound like a UniVibe to me. I might use it if I could get it to sound anywhere close to my Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe though.

we included his preset in the factory content

Ah yes
I seem to remember someone tweaking his settings to get a more Hendrix-y Woodstock kind of sound, but can't seem to find the post now. -
I had a phaser in the loop of my Swirlpool trem pedal ....you could dial that in pretty close to a passable sound.
Might be worth a shot to double them up on a switch.

The Uni-Vibe was not designed to be a chorus, vibrato, or phaser. And contrary to the Wikipedia page it was not attempting to recreate a Leslie speaker doppler sound. In the linked interview, the creator Fumio Mieda states he was trying to create an effect similar to the sound that was caused by the powerful Moscow propaganda radio transmissions overpowering Japanese radio. He describes it a strange effect of pitch, phase amplitude. A phaser is not an equivalent.

Interesting I had one back in the early 70's that a girlfriend brought back from the US, along with a Maestro phaser, and to be honest, I preferred the Maestro's medium phase for the 'swirl'.
Still, I wish I had them both today ......

Beautiful videos, thanks for sharing
the part I loved most is where the engineer sais "I had no clue as how to reproduce that sound"
-
I'm happy with the Wah Freq Shifter. Here's a live track all Kemper morphing in and out.

This was the demo I uploaded which has been in the Kemper effects presets since. I must have tweaked it some since, because in person there is no wah sound. I'll have to see what I changed...
MuddySludge - I'm afraid I can't really hear any effect nor morphing. As was mentioned above, a little too subtle for me as well.

Univibe is like fuzz in terms of impedance, kemper should add the true impedance like the fuzz (only for stage unfortunately). Other device like Fractal or helix use this feature to mede Univibe more realistic.
