The free modelers, NAM and Proteus, suffer from tying a player to a computer, either laptop or desktop. Kemper was always about freeing you to take a box (toaster/rack) or a floorboard to gigs with your sounds inside for use. What the freebies have not done, nor are likely to do, is offer that portable hardware to rival Kemper, at least not for free.

That currently leaves Axe-FX, Kemper, Quad Cortex, or ToneX. Given the recent flush of new hardware based systems, could we see 5-7 more within three years?? What a time to be a geetar player!!

I too have many great old tube guitar amps. Few of the newer technologies replicate any of them, especially the 11 year old Kemper.

Time marches on, old stuff decays, withers, and eventually disappears.

A technology based company cannot continue for long on one initial success. 11 years is nearly 5 tech-lifetimes.

That update information is incomplete, and inaccurate.

Fix the software, keep the downloads up to date.

I never use auto dates to avoid problems. Since my data is stored on a NAS, I control when and where files are downloaded. Besides, the auto update for Kemper OS rarely works properly.

Download site is STILL not current. Another reason to not trust "auto" anything.

Nope, don't do Beta software of any type.

I have the newest Kemper OS (8.7.10) and Rig Manager (3.3.45) installed. RM is on MacOS Monterey.

Every time I launch RM it says there is a newer version, 3.3 available. What is wrong with Rig Manager now?

Not in my configuration, I use a NAS and applicationns cannot install from a network drive, in most cases, and in all cases with previous versions of RM. On an M1 iMac ....
