Wow,
This is a great vid imho. The amp sounds awesome, a lot of low end and punch. Can't find that punch in the kpa sound of the vid. There is something missing for me but overall I must say that all tested things sound good.
-
Interesting indeed.
I get it that there's no comments/comparison regarding the sounds, but would have been REALLY interesting to hear about any feel differences as that part will never come through youtube anyways.
Well who knows. Maybe there's coming something later on..

Yeah, the first one with the real amp and cabinet sounds best to my ears, I didn’t even have to relisten, it’s very obvious…
-
The Friedman sounded warm on the open palm mutes where as the rest, even the Kemper, sounded scratchy. I thought out of them all the Friedman sounded best but once in the mix the Kemper and the Friedman sounded on par....maybe a small win for the Friedman.
This was listening on my phone lol.
-
Definitely the amp sounded best, but I think it could have been partly a little volume issue, the Kemper seems to have been mixed slightly lower.
Either way considering all the options, and even as it stands with the Amp sounding better, Kemper was the only complete rig there that didn't require tube amps, microphones, etc. How many guitar players have access to this quality tube amps and are able to record at the sweet spot with such setups!?

Listening through Yamaha HS80-M monitors.
Tone is subjective.
People can be biased, but...
For me...
Number one was the last recording with the BE, 4x12, SM57, DAW
Number two was the Kemper
A very distant third was the banana.[Blocked Image: https://s5.postimg.org/yffqha7av/oie_p_Oln_LGv7po70.png]

Also... How did you do the profile?
-
The guy owns Big Hairy Profiles. So profiled his own rig I’m guessing.

They all sound great to me, interesting that the amp set up coming in at around £4,500:00 in a nice room with a guy that knows exactly how,to mic the cab sounds a little bit better to some ears than the Kemper which is just plugged straight into a desk. Astounding, and add to that the Kemper will sound the same in any studio with any engineer and can do you a couple of different amps if you’re stuck, I think ithats really impressive.

The OX came off worst here, listening on Genelec 1030As and a Genelec 1092A sub in the studio. Between the last clip (real amp with EQ) and the Kemper, there's a something missing in the solo section on the Kemper, which makes the amp's solo cut more, but it might just be a level thing. Otherwise, the biggest difference is in the palm mutes, where the real amp is tighter and sounds less saturated to me.

I wonder if dialing up the power sagging would alleviate this a bit.
I'd love to try that profile

I'd love to try that profileAnd maybe dialing back the gain a tad on the KPA...

Nice tip @Dean_R

They all sound good for sure.
But take 100 different BE-100 KPA profiles and they will each have their own vibe.
Check out Tim Pierce's video profiling his amps and the Kemper sounds soooooo damn close to his amps.I know it's through YouTube, but IMHO, this one wasn't close at all.

Understood, just wondering if a SM57 was used, as it was what was micing the amp live.

I'd love to try that profileI think it would, I am actually pretty sure.

Tell me, wouldn’t the Kemper be MORE loose With adding sagging? Another words, wouldn’t it move it further away from the tightness of the real amplifier?

To my leaden ears, power sagging adds a kind of thump to the attack of especially the lower notes, where it's almost like it's cleaner in its attack, that's why i suggested it.
