With great disappointment and reluctance, I went back to FW 3.3 - just too many gigs to play, too much risk with 4.01 - mainly the problem of not going to the expected rig when needed. That's just too risky for gigging at this point. I sure hope they get things ironed out soon, I love morphing and all the other new features. I know the Kemper team will ace this, I have the utmost confidence in them!!
Display MoreI hear you, tntent. I don't have any clue what it does, either.
EDIT -- Woops, after a bit of digging...I actually found it. This method does not appear in the actual KPA Reference Manual. It appears to be more of a "troubleshooting" technique, and it is described on the wiKPA page entitled "System Management" (link below):

Well, I guess that clears things up. I can go to sleep, now.
Cheers,
John
thanks for clearing this up. This in fact is a very useful way for me to play with 4.01 while keeping 3.30 ready
Hi,
Is anyone else having the contrast, etc resetting on reboot each time? Mine happens a lot. May have to go back to 3.3.
Thanks
Jason
1st gig with 4.1 went without a hitch, 2nd gig tonight. Fingers crossed.

Jason, same here. I have to go into system and literally just touch the contrast button. Have you reported to support?
Will do. I used morph for lead boosts on distorted amps and for moving between a clean chorused verse sound to heavily distorted chorus (ala GNR Knocking on heavens door) Worked great last night

I decided to go back to 3.3 today. No major issues as such but there wasn't really anything in 4 that made the risk worthwhile for my upcoming gigs. One thing to be aware of is that after installing 3.3 again all of my delay settings were lost and each rig just had a default delay sound. I had to do a restore from before I installed os4 to recover the correct delays.

Oy - that's part of what's making me hesitate to go backwards... all that work wasted... still debating which way to go.
On my way home from a great gig with KAOS 4.0.1, controlling my Kemper with a combination of the Remote and midi. Everything went smoothly. Of course I did several test drives of the whole set during rehearsals the past days so I knew what to expect.
all ran smoothley on 2nd gig minus one weirdness. Went to start a song and expected the distorted amp but got 100% clean LOL I was on the right bank it just hadnt loaded the amp right. Got lucky and noticed quick enough to switch back n forth to get it loaded right

If you make a backup of your 4.x machine you will be able to retrieve this later and your work won't be lost, Gary.
I know Ingolf, I've just never done it... concerned that it will backfire on me. It will probably be just fine as you say.
@prsgary Kemper recommends making a backup before each OS change, anyway. So, if you are doing that, you have all your rigs, performances. Etc, safely backed up.
Oh I know that Paul, and religiously do that, thanks!
Have you, or anyone else for that matter, noticed that the Wah set to 'bypass to stop' no longer works in 4.0? The wah just stays on. Any similar experiences? I'll do a support ticket on this as well.
In some of rigs the delay effect just did not work at all... I went back to 3.3. Also do not need the new morph..:.)
Cheers Sacapuntas
So has anyone else found the new delays? Sorry haven't gone through all these posts. I have them with 4.01 if you bring up Legacy delay in a profile and then scroll through with the Browser knob, just past all of the DIST "profiles" you'll get to DLY and there are 13 variations including 3 of the Edge.

Yes, i found them. I the addendum of 4.0
There are no new delays. Just a fusion of the old ones in the legacy delays. New delays will come later.
Cheers
