Fractal is out with a new FW. They say it sounds exactly like tubes now
Weird that no-one mentioned it yet...

Hmm... Kemper sounds like tubes since day 1. -

So it sounded solid state until now ?

Brain used and sarcasm perceived, here. -
Oh, it seems I have not used mine when reading your post. Apologies!

All this "you're the man" and childish cheering. What a kindergarten.
These tweak-nerds over there need the latest "get a life"-FW.But there is no tech-guru who can deliver that.
-
I'm not surprised it wasn't mentioned here - it really only matters to people who own the product, or are interested in getting one of them.
Unfortunately, If someone owns both a KPA and an Axe, they would be even less likely to mention it online, because of the way too many other people behave.
-
Cliff is a clown. When Kemper released their pure cab feature, he stated that they are releasing something similar and that they don't hype up regular updates/changes like Kemper does...
Now he releases QUANTUM!!!! OMGZ! TuBEzZZ ForR ReaLZ NOw!... Lol, while he might have a great product it's so off putting to talk crap about competitors then turn around and do exactly what you accuse them of doing.

Not true... We love to have a good time pulling ol' Cliff's leg now and then

Or you used the solid state one, not tubish

Honestly, you see the same thing from some people here. And the confirmation bias goes both ways as well.
-
TBH I like it when users are pleased that their platform of choice is evolving.
Nothing wrong with that. -
I really do see differences how Cliff is communicating about his product - and the competitors (!!) and how ck is talking about his product...
I have a clear perception of which way I like more.
It even gets so far, that this way of communication was one of the points, why I decided to go with the product I own now. No regret! -
Or you used the solid state one, not tubishI have probably used a modelled brainv Vs. a profiled one
TBH I like it when users are pleased that their platform of choice is evolving.
Nothing wrong with that.of course. But i still remember when I was almost killed when (around the time of FW 5.0) I stated that future FW versions would have made the Axe sound better (and I meant to praise Cliff's attitude towards the neverending reseach of good sound).
LOL
as for the same sometimes intolerant attitude being present here as welll... I have to agree. And I strongly wish things would be different.
i remember some posters being considered trolls because they were criticizing some aspects of the Profiler.
come on, we can do better than that! -
I could post a clip of my POD 2.3 using the High Gain model, claim it's the latest Axe firmware, and they would believe me at The Cork Sniff Page.
There's a reason I still hold on to my POD, but don't own an AXE and it's not due to lack of funds. -
These periodical hype firmware releases are so soo pathetic And each time they brag about how this is now the best of the best. My Kemper sounds better than this Quantum BS since day1.

Yes.You see them here also. But here you also see plenty of "hardcore-musicians" who at least try to slow down this "accellerated upgrade madness" and the nerdy "I want moarrrr"-approach.
I dont see them "over there".Not even one.
-
Love it! I've been considering an Axe Fx as an emergency backup and for adding effects flexibility. Now their older model I'm looking at might just get a bit cheaper
