Mines takes a moment or two. I've not actually counted the seconds, but I'd estimate that it takes about 20-30 seconds from the KPA has finished the start up routine to the Remote finishing syncing and being ready to play.
I Need to observe this more.
Sometimes both have finished booting nearly at the same time, sometimes the Remote is 10 secs or so behind.
yeah they are nearly the same when booting up. But I only have about 10 rigs on my live KPA
Mine always wants to update (or at least run a thorough OS check). My Power Rack doesn't have room for any more profiles (yeah, I know...), so maybe that's why there's more of a delay for me..?
So the less rigs you have on your KPA the faster the booting up of the remote will follow. It could explain the wide variations.
I am glad this question was asked, I have been wanting to ask it also, my remote seems to take forever, the kpa completely boots up & it take awhile for the remote to even light up let alone come to full display, I will see if I can find time to time it today..

For my part I still have issues with my remote(s), the original one and the replacement one, and I'm still in discussion with support team to find a solution. When it works (it sometimes boot up...) there is a delay between 17 and 20 seconds and I was wondering if this delay is normal or related to the issues.
I forgot to mention that I have 375 rigs on my profiler.
The delay is up to 10 seconds. Consider this as a bug which is fixed in the next firmware version above 3.0.2.

I have been really busy working , but will try to time my startup this weekend..

Reviving an older thread, i notice the remote takes at least 20 seconds to connect and go into a usuable state, when "plugging in", certainly no development on the quote from Timo.
Powering up the KPA with the remote plugged in, the remote is no quicker as it engages mid way through the boot cycle but still "searches" to connect near the end of boot-up, thus making the overall "ready to go" time longer: boot time + remote time = 1minute.
With the current firmware, 3.2.1 how does this compare to everyone elses remote boot times?
Just did the test.
On 3.2.1 as well. 264 rigs. Remote pluggd in.
45 seconds for the KPA to startup, plus another 15 for the remote.
Not sure if Im being too fussy, but 1 minute seems too long ( As daft as it sounds out loud ).
Seems to take just as long as my Windows PC.

sounds about same time as mine, with just under 600 rigs.
Would be great if the remote connected quicker, especially on those occasions where it might become detached during a live show
I've been concerned about the connector on the back of the KPA . I wish there was a way to retrofit an ethercon connector

I've got my in a rack so I've got an Ethercon feedthrough (and XLR's for the Main Outs) on a spare bit of Rack Panel. I then just got a retrofit Ethercon boot for the other end of the Remote cable.
Obviously no help if you've got a Toaster.
See bottom right....
