Another reason to ditch your FCB: KPR will switch profiles faster.
Can't beat integration folks.
Cheap alternatives don't come without their costs!

It's not clear that you'll need to own the remote to see the improvements in switching times. It seems just as likely that this will be a firmware improvement released concurrently with the remote, improving switching with any solution - remote, MIDI, or manual.
Does anyone have information as to the type of switches used in the remote? I can't stand really loud switches; much prefer good silent switches like the ones TC use in their Ditto loopers, for instance.
I see the included Ethernet cable Is 7 metres (22+ feet). I will need a shorter cable around 2 metres (6 feet). I wonder if any Ethernet cable will do the job?
Any ethernet cable will do. And you can also retrofit one side with a Neutrik plug.
$600 US is a lot of scratch. Don't think I can get it yet. Will have to save up.
The Neutrik shell can be put onto an Ethernet cable with no soldering.
Yes, I did. And as I said I also tried lubricating the gears, but I could still feel the "steps" as the dents of the gears moved...
no such problem on my side. I didn't even lubricate them and still have the same grease that originally came with the gears.
the onyl real problem that I remember I had was the fact that while checking a midi pedalboard input meter one of my hex was not achieving the value 1 or 127 of the range. so when using it with the pitch there was the risk of not getting the one octave higher/lower in tune. but that was easy to solve: all I did was to move the gear so that the pedal was able to go all the wat on its scale.
this for the hexes
for the kemper pedalboard: way, way to expensive in my opinion.
I bet it is a well constructed object, but money is money.
will stick with my rocktron all access for now.........
I wonder if in future releases if the looper function could be made longer, with using the USB port and a USB stick? Perhaps even using it as a sampler recall!!!

it is pretty sad, but true.

Bummer. Well, I guess I'll have to test one for myself.
In the meantime, I'm going to turn one of my old, broken Crybabies into an expression pedal and see how that works:-)
Cheers,
Sam

Sorry guys i have to disagree I think the price is fine and what I expected it to be.
So many of us have been waiting for this for quite some time.
Kemper took their time to do this right as far as design and build and didn't rush out something which was inadequate.
To me, it looks like an outstanding product.
That being said, I'll be getting one for sure. While the price isn't what I was hoping for, I'll find a way to make it work because I have a need for it.
I'm pretty thankful that this is coming out for us shortly.
fortunatly I have several expression pedals i can try. But i'll only be able to justify the $600 US ,once i find out how much external MIDI control it will have
I think 499€ is way too much.

well.....no one of the guys who claim the price it too high have doubts the product isn't outstanding. as a matter of fact if I didn't believe this I would have never been a kemper user, endorser and demonstrator.
so, I am grateful for kemper remote....not so grateful for the price
I guess there will be a lot of FCB+kemper chip on the aftermarket soon
I'm waiting for a good deal, I'm in France...
People may want to hang on to their current pedals, incase of a backup is ever needed,in the future.
Anyone think the looper will have the ability to sync with the tap tempo?
Looks like even though the looper is said to be in the Kemper, it's actually exclusive to Remote users. The site states "The Looper is exclusively available to Remote users." Elsewhere the 'exclusive' part is stated in bold. Anyone able to confirm we won't be able to use external pedals to use the looper unless you purchase the remote; is this correct?

This is exactly what I'm doing, with the price you would get for a used FCB ya might as well just keep it for a back up
Sorry, that's at least 100 Euro too much for a remote.
