Bad news to wait six month for the Kemper Foot Controller, but i think they will create another great tool.
Good news for the firmware update for the FCB1010. Who will offer the update? -
That doesn't suck at all! It's a nice transitional tool while waiting for the KFC, and may be good enough for lots of users. Having used Roland gear for years, i really appreciate Kemper's customer focus.
-
If they say 3rd quarter, I wouldn't expect to get your hands on one until the 4th quarter.
Still, this is good news now that we have an actual date for the footcontroller arrival.

This is great news about the FCB 1010 firmware update. But im so so so wanting the foot controller so i can make full use of the KPA. At the mo im using a standard FCB 1010 and im not very clued up on midi, so turning on stomps etc i just cant do.
-
That is exactly why they are working on a KPA-ready version of FW for the UNO chip. Just plug the cable, not settings necessary.
-
I would hazard a guess that Q3 will be a summer namm announcement which really isn't that far off.

Hey Raoul23, have you seen this youtube video

Havent tried this myself yet, but i am really happy with the fcb 1010. He uses the low row for preset switching and the high row for stomps.
Maybe this videos will help you, until the KFC comes. -

Thanks

No, you can also have the stomps in the bottom row if you wish.
Wait a few weeks for a special KPA- UnO chip which is going to enhance KPA functionality more (though I don't know specifics yet). -

Since i havent tried the uno chip, i dont know any advantages, but the fcb 1010 can do more than anybody knows.
I think the problem is the manual, its so complicated written/ explained. -
Just watched the YouTube link and its perfect just how I want to use my FCB until the KFC comes out thanks guys for sharing this

I think the problem is the manual, its so complicated written/ explained.Agreed the FCB stock is actually a very powerful unit. There are really 3 main benefits to the UNO IMHO:
1. Stomp box mode. While you can actually do this with the stock controller, the LEDs don't reflect the actual states. This helps in that regard greatly.
2. Hot swap of programming. Without the UNO, to recieve sysex files the unit must be put into a special mode. With the UNO, that is no longer required.
3. Toggle CC. With the UNO, you can set any pedal to toggle between to different CCs/values. This is great for toggling on/off stuff. The standard firmware is supposed to offer this as well but I could never get it working correctly. -
OK, so it seems I should install the UNO chip (already received) as it's an overall improvement.
-
And get the Ripwerx editor (free).
