I have a non-powered rack mount Profiler.
I need to get a power amp for it.
What power amps are you using that you like?

Hi, EricSparks.
Welcome to the community.
There are lots of discussions about power amps. Here's one to start with.

I have experience with 3 stereo amps, and in no particular order:
Camplifier 290. Not what you're looking for because it installs in the toaster head, but is great clean power. Class D. They have outboard options as well.
ISP Stealth pro. Another good option, but there's no on/off switch so unplugging and plugging in you see sparks. Hmmm... Sounds good though. Class A/B
Seymour Duncan SD 700. Best of breed methinks. Amazing amounts of power for any application. Only thing I don't like is the inputs are on the front. Class D.
All of them can keep up with a drummer with the advent of the Power Amp Boost feature.
If you don't want to open up your profiler then the Seymour Duncan line is probably best.
I'm a tone junkie and have tried many different power amps and guitar amplifiers. In my opinion, Nothing sounds as good as the FRYETTE LX II All tube Dual Voice Stereo Power Amp. I run it in Mono and send it to a 4x12 Friedman Cab. I used it last week at a outside gig and got to really turn it up, it sounded HUGE!! It also sounds great at low room volumes.. Before that i was using the synergy 50/50 which is basically the same thing, but for me, the Fryette sounds much better.

Thank man! I tried to look up some previous information about my post and all I found was a thread from 2012. I'll learn a bit more about this site. I appreciate you.

Im not too familiar with Fryette. So, I did a google search for the amp you mentioned. I checked out their corporate page as well as some audio reviews of it. Very impressive! I noticed another amp they make called the "Fryette G2902S Two/Ninety/Two 90Wx2 Tube Guitar Power Amp" Have you tried it too?

Most of the comments I see are people praising the fryette power station in regards to their other gear. I have yet to see a kemper user complain when using that with it and a cab, but the lxii is designed specifically as a neutral power amp for modelers and the profiler. The amps are very loud and used to be vht , I think till they changed their name. Just be careful if you get any of their stereo amps especially the lx ii to not hook anything up until you understand how to put it under a speaker load correctly. They ship them without manuals , and the lx ii is the most confusing power amp I have ever owned , and the company just keeps referencing their manual when I ask them how many safe load configurations there are.
Yes I have but i liked the LX II better. But thats just me. If you have a local music store that carries Fryette, Take your kemper and Guitar and go try them out, you'll find one. Just don't use a music room, stick it out in the middle of the store and get the real feel and sound.
I use the Orange Pedal baby 100. Great power amp, Class A/B and very loud. Pushes the cab a lot like my tube amps do. Orange is actually using the PB100 as the output section for their new Crush pro amp.
All,
Thank you for your replies! I ordered the Fryette LXII. I had no idea that VHT changed their name to Fryette! I looked into it and presumably due to a legal ordeal. VHT was always considered good equipment! It all makes sense now as to why they even look like VHT's...because they pretty much are! LOL
PS: Power Slave thank you for the warning about hooking the unit up wrong! Dually noted...
welcome to the family ?
I believe the TC Electronics Bam200 should get an honourable mention. It is a bass amp that can be set nearly flat response. I believe the big guy himself (correct me if I’m wrong) actually recommended for the unpowered Kemper kab prior to the powered kab release for users who had an unpowered Kemper.

For the price of that amp, you can just buy the Icepower amp (50asx2) module, wiring kit and case and have truly flat response.
an Icepower 200asc power amp is 200w mono . Super east to wire up , no input interface needed. Also easy to add a 200w sidecar for stereo
Not everyone is comfortable with DIY, but the Ice power amps are great for those who are comfortable.
