apparently that’s a light sensor for auto dimming the display but was never implemented
Yes you're right ... Upon booting up all LED's light up except that spot ... Maybe thats also the case with the stage ...
So a ambient light sensor that changes brightness depending on the conditions ... maybe for a next update ?
So cool to brainstorm over these things !

As impatient as I (and many of us here) are......this has been a great set of teasers thus far.
Drag it out too long and people will get crazy-stupid-angry....over an app. But they'll do it! -
You might be able to use something like a Roku type device in the Ethernet port for a wireless unit.

Kemper has stated (via FB comments) the toasters will connect via LAN cable to a router.

Perhaps on Toaster and Rack you have to connect it to yout WIFI router via LAN cable. Maybe remote can be used with Poe and have to be connected to the same router? Just guessing.
Ha!
What did I win?

I hope this works on older versions of the iPad. I think mine is a Gen 3. Mine works to interface with my mixer over WiFi but wouldn't work with the Spark amp... I hope it works with this because I am not spending hundreds of dollars to buy a new one when I don't use the one I have all that often.

Verified. Dang.

In essence, you need a dongle of a fashion.
The router doesn't have to be connected to the internet, so a 25 dollar el-cheapo router with its own network and you're golden. Certainly not as slick and snazzy as a built-in wifi radio or USB dongle, but workable. -
So it will be best to place a small router in the rack with the toaster.
What Hardware will be needed to connect Remote, Toaster and WiFi at once?
i would like to buy those parts in advance, to be ready when the App is released.
Maybe Kemper Company will offer a compact solution? -
I’m guessing no remote and router connection at the same time ?

I would think Remote into the router can work.

Yeah - that makes sense to me and setting up performances etc using the remote is definitely on the menu for performers using the editor so to do otherwise would be a bad step forthe functionality of the editor.
I am wondering whether the PC and Mac versions of the editor can also use this sort of (network) connection to the toaster/rack models and the Stage of course. ie no need for a USB connection - wifi from computer to your router and then ethernet cable as long as you like (or even powerline connection) to the KPA.

There was a thread a few years ago, that indicated it is possible to connect a Profiler and a Remote to a LAN, so it could be done with a router.

I really wish Kemper took the opportunity to create an elegant streamlined "update" solution for this in the form of a special cable/router adapter specially designed for the rack and toaster.
There are already products that should work without an extra power supply and small like this one:

I hope so as well. The fact that ANY solution exists for a unit 10+ years old is amazing to me. Talk about choosing your connection ports and protocols correctly.
But the router in the link requires a USB charger. Won't work without it, I believe. -
the real issue with my Mac High Sierra is that i need to update to run the new RM beta and i dont really want to update because some of my apps will not work with the Catalina or Big Sur OSX

But the router in the link requires a USB charger. Won't work without it, I believe.Well it would need an USB port. Like the one in the back of the toaster. For the rack it would not be possible because the USB port is on the front of the device.

This is the seriously the biggest letdown ever. My excitement just went from 100 to 0.
No chance in hell I'm going to connect this shit to my router in the other room, just so I can loose functionality of my remote and be able to edit using my iPad. Plus, that's far more cumbersome than just using my laptop
Purchas a USB wi-fi dongle? Sure
Connect my iPad directly, via USB? That works too
Run a cable across my house just so I can edit on my iPad? No
