I've tried picks from Dunlop, D'addario, Alice, Dava... then I saw Eric Johnson on his Total Electric Guitar DVD and decided to give the Jazz III a shot. I started with the XL size, because I thought the standard would be too small for me but... after trying the standard, I haven't looked back. I use either the max grip or the standard depending on the weather conditions if I play outdoors.
Standard for rehearsals and max grip for gigs
What kind of Pick is everyone using?

*EDIT* What @elemefjot said
and I also learned about these from Eric Johnson. I actually found a Johnson signature Jazz pick in a rehearsal space (coincidentally) right after watching the video where he talks about them.

I couldn't go back to the standard Clayton/Fender heavy picks after using these. Ill occasionally use a Clayton while recording for the extra grittiness it adds to palm muting, though.

Usually whatever 1mm picks are in the music shop. I'm buying the Trio+ tomorrow on Amazon and have a few other bits thrown in with it:
Petrucci Jazz III x6
Tortex standard 1mm x12
Tortex Jazz III 0.88mm x12
Dunlop Jazz III variety

I also can recommend Dawman-pics, manufactured in Minsk (Belarus) with free international shipping. Here's the link:
I like the Shredline Standard and the UFO Standard, both not pointed. These two pics and the V-Picks Tradition are now my favorite ones, MUCH better than any Dunlops I've played and tried before.

Not a big risik, the Dawman-pics are not overpriced and they offer free international shipping. They are on the same level like V-Picks, if you like the V-Pick "Mummy" you will love the Dawman "Shredline".

The Shredline Standard looks really interesting as I like the Jim Dunlop Primetone Jazz III XL as well as the Ultex Jazz III XL and the Shredline Standard seem to have about the same size. Thanks for that Günter!

very thin but extraordinarily rigid for the thickness. no give in the pick, better accuracy and easier to get the speed you need - without having to use a slab of a pick to get that kind of rigidity. plus when they are brand new they make a great air hockey puck.
This. And they sound great.

I've just ordered a "Variaty 6 Picks Pack" (3 Shredline Pinted, 2 UFO Pointed, 1 Shredline Jazz). Pretty curious if they will fit my needs. But they look promising and the price seems really fair!

Jazz II here. III's are a bit too pointy for me.

I use this one:

The search for the perfect pick is ongoing. Thanks for the tips and picks, @guenterhaas !
My current faves are Dawman Picks (the see-through neon green in the top row and the black and red immediately to the left of it). Who'd have thought I'd enjoy 3 mm thick picks? -

I have some Red Bear No. 9 heavys. been using them for years. they last a very very long time if you take care of them. recently, because they've been so hard to get... and expensive.... I've been using Dunlop Petrucci Jazz III picks. love them. with their polished tips they are the closest thing I've used to Red Bear. they are also very durable.
