I took the Ebony Truss Rod cover off and put a matt silver one on matching the other hardware.

very nice work Sir 😎
I finally walked away. Thought I’d share my experience yesterday that shows I’m making a "little" progress in reigning in my GAS. I had no idea what I thought I was going to do with this, I couldn’t even lift it by myself, had no place to put it and I had no "safe" answer to when my wife would predicatively ask “now what the f**k are you going to do with that? Best I could think up was "but it’s cool and with my discount would have only cost me $350!" Proud of myself for walking away but a bit concerned at how long I stared at it and pondered not walking away… even knowing full well she would have ironically killed me on Valentine's Day. Would anyone else have had trouble walking away from this "deal"?
Trust me. You are better off with a computer. Much less space and you can even play games on it or browse these forums. I bet that went for $10,000 back in 1970s.

No problem walking away. Wouldn't have enough space either for a dinosaur toy
Update - I told our tech guy at work, who is also a brass musician about it and he told me to go back and get it and started throwing money at me. It was still there this afternoon so I bought it for him. I got the GAS high without the GAS responsibility.
You'll want these then!
GL4000-USER-GUIDE-AP2642_3.pdf
GL4000-SERVICE-MANUAL.pdf (allen-heath.com)
The user manual and service manual are readily available, but the user manual too big to upload here so Google it.

Much appreciated. To be more precise though "He'll" want those. Those things make my head hurt.

Leaning over that giant board would make my back hurt
Although they have a Yamaha Digital Desk these days.
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club used the Allen Heath Desks similar to the one you bought, for many years.
My main concern would be that unless it was tested prior to sale, it might need recapping or entail some thorough maintenance work.
Never-the-less, some people love that sort of challenge, it was a great bargain and lots of perfectly good analogue equipment is being displaced in favour of digital these days.
I wish your friend good luck with his endeavours.

I recorded one album on an old Tascam analog deck a couple of years ago. Alas it had a problem in the master section so i sold it. But it had a sound, i can hear it in the final mixes. But it takes up a lot of space and nowadays recording with the computer has endless possibilities with all those plugins. Maybe too many...
Me too!
I had one of those PortaStudios!!!
I also have a Spark and a Spark Mini. Certainly not a KEMPER replacement, but pretty cool little practice and travel amps. I had a custom grille done for the Spark 40
Cordoba Stage:
Got this one Saturday.
I'm disappointed in the lack of quality control, mine came with a chip knocked off the finish on the back side. Other than that it plays and sounds real nice. I won't be returning it but I did just give them a 2 star rating on Amazon.

Don't let that slide, contact Amazon. They will certainly give you a discount. I got a guitar without a strap pin...they credited me almost $200. All I wanted was the Strap Pin

Yeah I hear you. I just started the process with a bad review and photos I'm sure either the seller or Mfg. will be wanting me to change my opinion.
