What version of RM and KPA Operating System are you using? If you are using an OS below 3.0, recent Rig Exchange rigs (and all of the online Rig Packs from Kemper) will not be compatible with your software.
If you are trying to import the brand new Talkbox and Univibe effect presets into RM or the KPA, they are not Rigs - they are Effects Presets. They need to be placed in the
"Effect""Stomp" folder of a USB Drive. If you have already installed 3.1x, you can use the "Import Factory Content" soft button in the System menu to import all of the new content.
(UPDATE: put them in the "Stomp" folder, not the "Effect" folder)

I just hooked up remote (1st time since system update) everything seems to be working correctly

That said, it'd be cool if RM did this. -
Yes! FX preset management in RM would be great

It is very likely that you are trying to import a file that is not a valid rig@Ingolf @Pault
that has been on my personal wishlist for a very long time. It might be the next logical step in the evolution of RM. -
I had this same error. Can someone explain the process of importing the new Talkbox and Univibe effect presets. I keep my KPA pretty bare, I don't need all of the factory content.
Is it just a matter of creating a backup, adding the files into the "effects" folder of said backup, then restoring the backup?

You could do that (BTW - they go into the Stomp folder - mea culpa)
BUT: It can be done MUCH easier than that.
If you already have a Kemper-formatted USB drive, add these two presets to the "Stomp" folder on the drive.
Insert the drive into the KPA USB slot, and you should get a prompt to import the drive content.

I must have missed something along the way. I don't have a "Stomp folder on my USB stick. Just:
Backups
Os Update
Shared (Empty) -
I don't have a "Stomp folder on my USB stick.
Under the shared folder, create an "Effects" folder. Put the files (*.kipr) under the new "Effects" folder.
Edit: If I remember correctly, you can call the folder stomps or effects as they both work.

Thanks, I'll give it a try tonight...

I had the same error when dragging and drop into RM with single and multiple profiles. Using latest RM and OS . Had to close down and restart RM to solve.
