Expression Pedal Review Thread - please post your reviews here :)

Does anyone know if either the Line 6 EX1 or the Zoom FP02M expression pedals work with the Kemper for Wah? I'm looking for something light and small with reasonable sweep. Durability does not matter that much as a don;t gig that often.

Line 6 EX1 has a Mono TS Jack and therefore doesn't work. -
I assume then the Zoom FP02M won't work for the same reason?

Hey
I need a little help. I'm looking for an expression pedal mainly for Wah use. At the moment I play my Morley Tremonti Wah which I really, really love. What I like about all the Morleys is the Auto On/Off switching. I know, not everyone is a fan of this but I am CryBabys are definitly not my kind of style I don't like to switch it off by going the whole way up through all the terrible frequencies and than try to hit a button.
Do you folks know any kind of expression pedal wich I can connect to my lovely KPA Remote and use it like a Morely style pedal? I heard about the Rocktron Hex but read, that it could have some stability problems... So thank you very much for every information you've got. -
Go for the Dunlop DVP3. Inside the KPA choose the option "Bypass @ Stop". This way the Wha will kick in when you move the pedal and disables itself when you don't move it anymore.

You're right, but what I don't like with this feature is that when you stop moving the pedal but your foot is still on top of it the wah stop working so you can't play some notes, not moving, staying at the same frequency for a while which I like to do with a wah.
-
Then you can set it off at toe or off at heel

Yes, I prefer it indeed!
-
Right, cocked Wah is not possible with Bypass @ Stop.

Thanks a lot for your replies. I think I will give this a try and buy a Dunlop!

Hi,
now the remote is there and I´m very happy.
The only thing i need is a expression pedal.
i want a 2in1. So volume and wah via switch in one pedal
I know there is the mission pedal. Lot of money
Do you have other options without Do it yourself stuff...???
Thank you

It can easily be done by converting an old wah pedal. There are links elsewhere in this thread IIRC (I've done it myself).
However, the KPA doesn't officially support the use of an expression pedal used as volume and wah in the same Rig, although it does work. The anomaly is that the volume will always reset to full when switching back from wah to volume and the pedal will be unresponsive until you've done a full sweep.
-
So the Mission pedal doesn't work too?
For full functions you have to buy two...
-
It works fine, just as long as you don't have a volume pedal and a wah assigned in the same Rig with Volume to Wah engaged
-
Hi,
did the Cry Baby Mod. But now it has a very logarythmic way. Says: Volume comes very fast and than no change.
When i activate the wah in toe position there is no sound.
Any suggestions?
-
Well, the old trick of disengaging the teeth on the wheel of the pot and then rolling it back a bit might help with the logarithmic tendency. I'm not sure what you mean with the last part. Do you have it set to engage at toe?
-
Very frustrating. Seems so easy.
I disengage the pot and roll back and test it live. The pot reacts on 3 teeth. After and before there ist no activity. Says: Looking on the calibration line in kemper and turn the pot shows a reaction by 3 teeth.
I´m very shure i´ve done a right wiring. Switch does his job and reaction of the pedal is right but the pedal way is to short.

Sorry for bad wiring. It´s my first wiring.
On pot: brown to sl= tip
blue (resistor) to ccw=ring
yellow to cw= sleeve -
Just got a Hotone Soul Press and it works well with the KPA.
This is for those who want to save pedalboard space
Here it is, next to a standard pedal:[Blocked Image: http://www.peerlessmusic.com.au/wp-content/uploads/imported/HOTONE-SOUL-PRESS-3-in-1-WAH-EXPRESSION-VOLUME-MICRO-GUITAR-PEDAL-251839420630-3.jpg]
