Would be great if Mothership could confirm how it works. I don't think it does that way though, given my experience from using such pitch modulation FX pre- and post- amp stack.
Overall transpose in the input section

The "where does it occur" discussion is a bit irrelevant to the request at hand, since putting it in the Input section pretty much dictates that it's first in the chain, correct?
-
my experience with it was placing it first definitely yielded best results. It can get what I would describe as warbly sounding when placed further along in the chain. I have also noticed the further the transpose the more it has this effect. also seems to be a bit of latency. the warbly sound is more noticeable also when playing lead style single notes with vibrato or bending as it attempts to "correct pitch" If the Kemper never improved we really couldnt complain but I would love some improvement and development on this one. Ive used it but due to the mentioned results try to limit it or keep it at 1/2 step

You are correct! It's all Ingolf's fault we got here!
Like in the movie Home Alone, we should have a smiley screaming, "Ingolfffffff!", right now!

I'm guilty ,

I'd never scream at Ingolf

You might, with a smile

Me too. I'm scared of Ingolf

Agreed on it being available at the input setting! Great idea!

No point IMHO. Why complicate the input module? Why even draw the line there? I mean, other FX could be placed there too, no? This is what the first slot is for. Anything in those first four slots is pre-amp block.Agreed on it being available at the input setting! Great idea!

IMHO, correct, 'Dan. -

IMHO, correct, 'Dan.I'd also note that if it's in the input section, how would you turn it off?

When I'm playing with someone who "tunes down" a half or whole step, I don't want to mess with all of my rigs to insert a Transpose stomp. Hence, putting it in the Input section would allow a quick means to alter my tuning without touching a rig ...

That's a great idea and it would make a lot of sense. What if you put transpose in stomp A and lock it? Of course, this will mean whatever effect you had over there gets superseded.
-
Yep. Never happened to me to play with "transposed" musicians, but if it occurs frequently devoting Slot 1 to that would make sense (in case Mothership is not going to make this available).
-
I have a slot setup with the transpose locked in A, just for this and learning certain songs. Works great
