Thank you
Hi guys, I have a Kemper stage and want to know what power amp is getting best results out there. So many different ones to choose from nowadays. š
Thank you
I have 3 different make/models:
Seymour Duncan SD700 (Stereo 700w)
Ritter Camplifier 180 (Stereo @ 90w/side or mono @ 180w) Not a current model
ISP Stealth Pro (Stereo @ 90w/side or mono @ 180w)
Of the three, I use the SD700 at practice, and the Camplifier at home. I like the Seymour Duncan units a lot as they use the same ICEpower modules that Kemper puts in their powered head/rack.
If you don't need/want stereo I'd take a look at the other Seymour Duncan offerings. Not cheap, but built like a tank with great clean power.
Unless you want a tube-base power amp, any decent Class D amp will be nearly indistinguishable from another.
As dmatthews said above the Duncan PowerStage's use ICEpower modules, which is the same manufacturer Kemper uses. I built my own Camplifier to fit in the back of my Head using one.
Those aren't cheap solutions.
Something like this Harley Benton 100 watt Class D amp would work quite well. For the cost, it's hard to ignore.

70 bucks??? Seriously? And it would give plenty headroom to a marshall 4x12?
And how does class D sound any different than the the ice technology, is it that much of a quantum leap in tone to pay 500?
The IcePowers are Class D.
The Harley Benton is 100wattsā¦..but I just saw that it runs on 230v only. (Europe).
I personally think the SD Powerstage amps are massively overpriced. You can buy the exact amp it uses for $130 at retail.

Aww to bad. I'm in USA. Oh well, thank you. I see Hughes kettner, quilter, so many more options out there. Confusing

Seymour Duncan Powerstage units are class D. The ISP Stealth is class A/B I believe.

I'm very uneducated about class D, A/B etc... Is one really better than the other?
Each has pros and cons.
Given Kemper uses Class D exclusively, they clearly like them.

Here is a very good write up...

Less than 200 bucks as well. Doesn't matter that it's designed for bass? Do you gig with that one?
Yes, i use it cause a lot of poeple advised this one here on the forum for the kone. There's even someone Who gave the settings to get it flat. Mid at 3'oclock,bass at 10,and treble at 10 approximately.
You should do a research on the forum to decide

Oh nice, thank you. I have a marshall 2x12 that I put Kones in instead of the celestions. This for the price could be something good š

I believe I even saw a post from Cristoph Kemper pointing to it as a possible choice.
I recently teamed a profiler player with an ISP Stealth Ultra Light pedal board power amp. Tone Wars did a demo on this amp some time ago.
I find the tone very punchy and full routing the signal through a standard guitar cab - speaker.

there's a way to make them 110v. there's a jumper on the board that you can short and it will make it 110v. I'm using mine this way.

Nice !!!
Seymour Duncan Power stage range is not cheap but the build quality is top notch, ye get what you pay for! And if you regularly gig it would be a good investment IMO.
