I may be wrong but touch screens are often color LCD screens and they are dark on stage. I think KPA philosophy is to get stage guys the most practical tools like bright readable display.

I heard that theory before and if true I agree, but I was talking about market expectations... most of the people who buys guitar gear will never be onstage. I'm not complaining about anything and I couldn't care less about the screen but I think Kemper would sell more units if they had a touch screen.

Btw I'm a big fan of having real buttons and I hate everything being on screens today, specially inside my car.

I see a lot of survival bias here. we´re all kemper users, we even bother to post here. so naturally we´re all in about kemper.

When Kemper was released 12 years ago it was like presenting a spaceship to car users, nowadays profiling is common - even the chinese have a stake on this.

I'm really happy that the profile engine is being updated, I don´t think we will see a great tonal difference because it was great as it is, but the market will perceive it differently. The only downside about the mk2 is the lack of a touchscreen. One more time, we´re good with the current screen, but this is a feature new users are looking for and I wish the kemper base keep growing and kemper sells a ton of new units because in the end of the day that´s what will keep the R&D and the adition of new features happening.

After some demo by my self. Yes and no. The Fixed Effects IMO should be labeled like Quick Effects.

They are fixed yes, but also simplified or even alternative versions of current effects.

    • Double tracker has only one knob vs three in the main effect. Same for chorus, and does the job.
    • Trapose sounds slightly different (better?) than the main effect.
    • Booster is like Pure Booster
    • Compressor is amazing and transparent. Simple, easy and effective!

      Definitely a nice addition!

same impressions here. I actually hated the doubler, I'd rather my TC Mimiq all day long.

The chorus in the first fixed fx block is really great.

and btw, same level of the kemper player.

he released the video with the GP200, totally in line with the Hotone products, which IMHO is pretty good.

I think there might be a difference between actually "running NAM files" and being able to import NAM files, which are converted into the proprietary (lesser) format and then run on the device...?

the gp200 is now able to load NAM Captures in two blocks. one for pedals and also for amps. That´s really amazing. It can´t profile an amp, like the kpp, but it can load nam files and run it without any conversion

Yep... the good ole GP200 now runs NAM captures. This makes the GP200 a very strong contender. I had one of these prior the KPP and it sounded really good and the FX were quite good too. I can't wait to see it running nam files. I think this will give kemper a run for the money.

Since I bought my KPP I have noticed a "double standard" when playing through my monitors and listening to the things I've recorded. My live tone is perfect, but recorded it has a lot of fiss. It is the same pair of monitors (Adam F7s), with what is supposed to be the same source, in the same interface (RME Babyface Pro using logic pro).

I'm not using the kemper as the interface, it is connected via an audio channel.

    Anyone experienced anything similar?

how do program the four buttons? which functions?
I got the same today, but to be honest, I am not able to program it properly....any clues, manuals? and do younuse your mobile for the m Valve switch to program it? thx andy:)

I use the m-vave app to program the midi commands according to the KPP manual. I put 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the chocolate midi, up down and tuner in the main unit. there are lot's of videos teaching how to set up the midi controller in youtube
