What kind of mono or stereo cable do you mean? A simple trs cable won’t work - I‘m afraid, that you aren‘t that familiar with the technical details…
Just get a power-over-ethernet adaptor and everything is fine.

Maybe your RJ45 (ethernet) socket is brocken? Does the plug make a „click“ noise, when you put it into your Kemper?

Sounds like either the cable end or the Ethernet jack on the Kemper could be broken. If you don't know how to troubleshoot, you might try taking a close-up picture of the both the Cable jack and looking into the Kemper socket and send them to Kemper support so they can evaluate. If something is broken in the jack, a new cable probably won't help you.

That "cheesy" connection has worked for 8 years with no issue for me.
After 8 years, my Kemper port failed and had to be replaced.
I now have it in a PoE, via a patch panel now with Ethercon. Sounds like you have the same problem and I would suggest checking the Kemper port and you will probably find it's loose/damaged as its light alloy.

Where did you get the mods done?

I had to get the port changed by a local PC/amp specialist. Kemper supported with the right part number etc.
It terms of changing to Ethercon, I did it myself:
1) I have a patch panel already on my rack, added an Ethercon port
2) Added a PoE and plugged that into the Kemper and the Ethercon port
3) Bought a converter for my ethernet cable to convert to Ethercon
Now have a very solid connection and if something does break, its easily replaceable/a consumable.
