DiaDario pure nickel 09 41. has more bend ability and a slight high treble roll off on my American ultra tele for a more vintage sound.

I use elixir coated on my acoustics for few years, they are great.
I recently try them on my parker. It's very comfortable but after 3 weeks the D string drives me crazy. It was tuned, but the intonation absolutely false. I though there was an issue with the guitar, impossible to fix it, after some researches I change the string and problem solved. After 25 years of guitar I didn't know a (new) string in tuning could become wrong and cause issue.
Now I have 5 coated elixir and 1 regular daddario mounted, I don't like that.

Very interesting. I got a G&L Jazz bass really cheap a while ago. The low E string is impossible to get intonated. I can move the saddles thru their whole range and the intonation does not change. Seemed impossible. I have not messed with it much since I ordered a Squire Jazz bass shortly after

After 25 years of guitar I didn't know a (new) string in tuning could become wrong and cause issue.
Has never happened to me...yet. I guess I must be lucky.

I first try to move the saddle. Even at the maximum it doesn't change anything.
I don't understand the reason as the string was in tune.

neither did I until I tried to find pure nickel strings. Apparently they don’t come with a 42 on top.

Honestly this is not a sizeable difference, what I got when I used them is that I found I had a deep groove to correct in my saddle because the E was ringing a bit when strumming, but you cant feel the difference. These are lights/super lights all right.
