Hi there, I just bought a kemper profiler stage and have been going direct into a powered headrush frfr 108 using ToneJunkie profiles and no matter what I do everything sounds horrendous. I can get decent clean tone at a very low volume but with increase in gain and master volume exceeding 45-50%, it gets horrendous. I have the kabinet and am waiting for Seymour Duncan powerstage in the mail to pair the two together, but was wondering if anyone has any tips in regards to the headrush for a rookie with very little background in sound, eq, mono/stereo, etc. Thanks- An idiot.

I don't have any tip for you but I have same experience with combination Stage & Headrush 108. Whatever I did the sound was extremally boomy and lot of additional tweeking was necessary to get reasonable sound. My quick solution was - sold Headrush, bought Kone speaker (put it into the cabinet) and class D amplifier. And everything is ok now
-
What output are you using on the stage? How is it set?
-
You could invest in one of these... works for me on other amps.

I am going L mono on stage to L mono input on FRFR.
On RigManager the output section also gives you options for stereo/mono/master mono etc.

I am familiar with the MXR 10B EQ, will consider that as well. Thank you

Thanks for your comment. Once I receive the power amp from SD I’m hopeful that the Kemper kab will sound tremendous ??

I have the HR 12” version, 2 of them ran in stereo and sounds great to my ears regardless of the volume. There is a “contour” switch on the back, have you tried engaging/disengaging that?

Stage and 108 here, too.
Sounds very good to my ears.
Could it be you're clipping the Kemper's input stage?
Or the Headrush input.
What method do you use to set that "very low volume" for the decent clean sound?
Have you checked the Headrush with other source of sound? And the Kemper with other amp?
Anyway I'm sure you'll solve it.
