M.Britt is your go to, however I just played for about 2 hours on a Dr.Z Profile that came in a ToneJunkie Pack I got for free a long time ago... sounds fantastic for anything like that. Honestly, there is so much free stuff... especially from Kemper directly, I don't find a lot of reason to buy packs any longer.

If that's not twangy enough for you, any fender deluxe/super/twin etc. + slapback echo + reverb with a boost will usually do it for me.

Agree with wheresthedug 100%... start with the Kemper Packs first... about anything you need is there. Grab just about any Marshall Plexi Profile - update the amp to a liquid tone stack and add effects as needed.

On another note - don't be afraid to try profiles that are different... I've been playing with a Dr. Z lately (again - from Kemper) and it sounds great playing Led Zeppelin!

I know this is supposed to be "Hot one" but my brain sees "Ho tone". Anyway, maybe try google reviews?

Gave me a laugh! I did read some reviews but didn't see any regarding the Kemper.

Don’t know about the Hotone but I have a cheap Skinny Little Twins dual pedal that I got off eBay years ago and can confirm it works perfectly with all my Kemper units. It’s not just momentary V latching that matters. You need to make sure that the normal state matches the Kemper. You have two choices normally open and normally closed. I can’t remember which Kemper use but it is in the manual.

Thanks to all - I think I'll give it a whirl. The manual for the switch didn't go into much detail about the polarity but it does mention it's usable for other systems.

Anyone used one of these? Was going to order some accessories from Sweetwater and this popped up for $24… seems like a good alternative to the Kemper branded foot switch if it works. It says it’s a momentary switch.

Was feeling a bit lackluster about my sound lately… not inspiring, a bit dull, no life in it.

Then I decided to do a deep clean on my R9… fretboard condition, new strings… viola! Fixed that!

Amazing that sometimes the simple things elude me… however, it does show how much the sound of your gear (Amp, Profiler or otherwise) depends on the basics.

Not really a big reveal here, but before you invest a good deal of time in tweaking… start with a new set of strings!

The free packs in Rig Manager are FULL of good stuff.

Just because you pay for them doesn’t mean you’ll like them.

I’ve paid for a bunch of them…yet everything I use currently are free ones.

1,000% agree…I’ve paid for a few myself, the best I have are free… either stock or free downloadable content from profile makers. I would never consider buying any from Fleabay.

Liveplayrock.com has some ready made performances with effects already set up… similarly. I’ve found there are too many variables and have only minimal success with sites like that.

These days,I really don’t concentrate on trying to make it sound exact. If there is a key part or effect I need to emulate, sure. However, most of the time I just try to get close and make it my own.

Ironically, I did a query on chatGPT the other day and it came up with some convincing settings for the kemper.

I used generally one or two. One will be a cleanish sound with an OD in the stomp for a bit more gain. The next is more overdriven with different delays or MOD that I can kick in as needed.

One thing I started doing years ago was approaching all the slots in given performance as one amp… just as I was using a real amp. This way there isn’t so much of a jump in EQ between each patch. Sounds better to me and our FOH guy is happier.

Love my KMP Stage and have been using it since it was released. I typically play it with two Headrush 1x12 FRFR that sound quite good... no issues.

However, bought a new R9 earlier this year and demoed at the shop into several different tube amps... a Suhr, Friedman, Amplified Nation... amazing. The touch response and immediacy on those amps was killer. Rolling off the volume knobs on the guitar even reacted differently. This wasn't just "amp in the room".. it became part of the sound experience.

Anyone here had experience with those amps? I probably won't be gigging much anymore so it's mainly for home usage. I'll never part with my KMP as it sounds awesome... but I've considered getting a small tube amp to play at home or even run in tandem with the Kemper (maybe using the Headrush Cabs for a 3 amp setup).

I've never played the KMP Cab but I hear wonderful things about it. Cost wise, it's a cheaper option as well. Would the Kemper Cab nail the "feel" I'm looking for? Looking at more "edge of breakup" tones here.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

a great 'cheat' for bass playing guitar players is the Wedgie Rubber Pick https://www.wedgiemusic.com/collections/gu…m-medium-3-pack
I gives you the picking control you're used to, while sounding like a finger/thumb.
It has a bit more friction than you will be used to, so it is a little harder to play until you get used to it.

I played bass in a few projects and this pick really made it so much easier...
The rubber will actually even out your attacks a bit, so it's almost like a built-in, super-soft sounding compressor.

    Highly recommended.

Thank you! Never heard of these picks and after reading the link looks very interesting, not only for Bass but Guitar as well.

Hello everyone! Is there any way to "force" a sync with Rigmaster and your profiler? The reason is simple, it seems like after a while of inactivity it will "forget" it's connection to my profiler. I've never measured how long, but it's not a long period. I've noticed this when plugged in and searching the exchange for a period of time, only to find that I've "lost" the connection.

To be clear, everything is live and in fact - it will show a rig loaded, you just won't be able to load any new ones or change the current after it "forgets" if that makes sense.

Running with current Mac OS and plugged directly into the profiler via USB - although this has been an ongoing thing through several updates which makes me believe it my be on my end. I've searched through the settings and don't see any way to force the sync.. my usual go to is to shut off the profiler and let it reload... not a huge deal, just thought there might be a better way.

Did some quick searches and didn't see anything on the subject, any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated!
