If you mic the Kabinet you will still not get the same sound FOH. Because it is micd.

Yes, but i will only have to select a profile that sounds good into the Kabinet without caring about the sound sent to the FOH.... For now, i have the possibility to select and hear the sound sent to the FOH so it a additional choice to do
-
Yes, it makes sense. It is pity that we can't just micked the Kabinet. Less thing to mangae because now we have to select a profile that sound good on FRFR and then play with it with different sounding...
Sounds like you're thinking of this backwards. The profile and cabinet in that profile is what is going to FOH. Your Kabinet is just a way for you to monitor that. You have the choice to use it in full range mode, so you hear more similar to what FOH hears, or you can use an imprint so you can tune what you hear to something more custom. The Kabinet is more just a way to get an amp in the room quality as opposed to a PA type of cabinet.

That is how it has always been, and you are still free to do that; just use Merged profiles and lock the Cab section.

Did you end up putting the ice amp in the cab? Mine is scheduled to show up Monday, looking forward to replacing the back panel with a power amp, equipped version.
Thanks

yes I did try it with the Icepower. I thought it was very loud and sounded very good. I will permanently mount this Saturday
-
the 200asc. Was very easy to hook up, using the ice power hookup kit
-
Could you show us how you installed it in the cabinet?

I have the same combination Bam200 and Kone in a Palmer Box. I closed the back. It sounds great!

I will try it!?

Finally finished the build based on Celestion's Plans, just left out the port and this thing sounds great. Using the BAM200 for now but depending on what whippinpost91850 shows us here, I may move to integrate the amp within the cabinet. This is like having a whole new Kemper (I've only played through studio monitors and connected to random combo amps ). Creates a whole new way to enjoy the Kemper. Really cool, loving the Kone so far.

cabinet looks great. I worked late I’ll finish the Icepower amp tomorrow and shoot some pictures

Have you tested yet how hot the ICEPower gets when played with gigging volume for a longer time?
One would think that it gets warm inside the closed back cab. BAM200 has even small fan, but no idea how necessary that is for 'average' user.
There seems to be thermal protection circuits in the ICEPower module which start kickin' in causing thermal shutdowns if needed, but that wouldn't be too cool while in the heat of battle.
Had once 500W class-D Bass head that had problems with the fan supply voltage and it worked fine in home, but started causing shutdowns after a while in a band practice scenario.
-
I have not . Tried at gig or practice yet. I think next Tuesday will be as soon as I can test with band. But other then the logo. I think it came out great as a Klone
-
Might be worth mounting the IcePower module on a bit of sheet aluminium - as a heat sink. Even better would be to have that heatsink facing outward on the back of the cab.
