I gave up googling this. I've had a profiler for years and love it to death. I also have the Profiler Remote which I'd like to connect the pedal to. I would primarily use it as a wah. If it is just connected with the trs cable, does that mean the wah would be on all the time? I thought you had to connect the ts cable too for the switch to turn it on/off? Thanks in advance. Oh yeah if anyone can recommend good short patch cables that would be great too.
Can I use Mission Engineering EP1-KP pedal with just trs connector?

You can connect it with just a TRS.
If you configure it as a Wah pedal in System Settings AND have a wah active in your rig, you have choices for the Wah settings in each rig:
1) you can set it to "auto off" - when the pedal is not moving, it is bypassed.
2) you can set it to "off at toe"
3) you can set it to "off at heel"
4) you can have it ON all the time in that rig -
There are cheaper out there but anything will do really, it doesn't need to be super expensive.

I use the Dunlop DVP3. I got a good deal on Amazon, and the seller included some TS patch cables (you can always use some of those for something else in your setup).
-
Thank you for your replies. That is awesome. I was hoping I could just use one cable.
-
I should have asked (out of curiosity) how would I benefit from adding the ts cable for the switch? Is it worth it?
-
If you want to be able to use a physical switch to turn wah on/off, you can do it that way, too.
Or, you can use the other ways I've mentioned to turn the wah on/off, and globally assign that switch to ANY assignable KPA external switch function.

Man you know your stuff paults. So you can use the Dunlop DVP3 with the Kemper? Is it better than the Mission pedal? Crap I should have posted these questions before ordering.
-
The throw is different and the tuner out is handy on the Dunlop. You shouldn't be disappointed though? I use a Mission, it's great.
-
Thanks again, much appreciated. I told one of my guitar buddies about the Kemper a while ago and he got one and loves it. Now I mentioned the pedal and he wants to get one too, so you've helped out 2 Kemper fans!
-
No worries at all, glad we could help out. Nice, it's great that both of you are rockin' Kempers! I sold mine at one point and went, "what the hell did I do that for"? Never again, LOL!
-
The DVP3 can be used with the Kemper because it is more than a Volume Pedal - it also has an Expression Pedal Output. It is not necessarily better than the Mission, just different.
The Mission has a heel to toe distance range like a conventional Wah. So, it is likely a better Wah controller than the Dunlop for someone who wants a traditional feeling Wah Pedal.
The Dunlop has a longer heel to toe distance. I prefer to use it for Whammy and Morphing, because it is easier for me to get the ”in between” Settings with it. When I use it as a Wah, I have the middle of its range set like a conventional Wah, with the lower and upper parts of the range giving me extended sweep, compared to a conventional Wah.

We don't know of any expression pedal, that wouldn't work with the Profiler. So it's a question of taste and budget. The toe switch isn't needed, not even recommended. You are free to use the toe switch or work like @paults is suggesting.
Personally, I use a Mission (in green) without the toe switch to control Wah, because it feels like a classic Wah pedal. I prefer the Dunlop for volume and morphing control, because of its wider mechanical range.

Thanks again. Yeah I'm looking forward to receiving it tomorrow. I also ordered a TRS patch cable from Amazon (link below).
That's what I was primarily hoping for. A wah pedal connected with one cable to the Kemper Remote. It sounds so much better than using a regular wah with a battery and have to worry about unplugging the cable when done playing to save the battery. Plus it's Kemper green! -
I have the 1.5 ft TRS & TS from them

I use 3 pedals. Two missions kp1 gn and one moog ep3.
Mission 1 settet wah to vol. Trs for wah/ vol. Tr for switch. Wah is in slot B active ( led on). Function is bypass@stop. So when i don’t use the pedal the wah is off. When i step on the switch the led from slot b is off ( you have to configurate the switch for this) and the pedal is a volume pedal. My other mission is only connected with a trs and i use it as a pitch pedal.
The moog is my morph pedal.
Works like a charm.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I connected the pedal to the remote with the trs cable, i was able to calibrate it and can see it moving on the screen, but the only effect I can get to work is the volume pedal. When I switch to wah or anything else, there is no sound at all.
-
Never mind, I'm an idiot. I found I had to have the wah assigned to a stomp. The volume worked I guess because it's just volume and not an effect.
-
I originally used the TS to activate the boost but didn't like the functionality of it and just us it for wah.
Use a stomp for boost.
