I don't really care, just found it odd?

If someone edits and saves a Rig that is based on a Rig you Authored, and then uploads it to Rig Exchange without updating the Rig Author field, you will still appear to be the Rig Author.
It is not possible to change the Amp or Cabinet Author - that will still be indicated even if someone (for example) saves a Rig that contains one of your Cabinet profiles and someone else's Amp Profile.

Yeah that's what I thought it must be.

Cant they be edited with a hex editor though?

If the tags can still be edited with a hex editor, it might create a mismatch with fields in the file data - this might not matter now, but, if additional tag fields are added in the future to accommodate feature changes, manually edited Rigs may become "broken" and unusable.

The name you put in to your profiler is what's used. I'm sure I'm not the only Per out there for instance (although I know I was the first with profiles in the rig exchange under just "Per").

Dudes, do NOT hex edit profiles. You are liable to corrupt the profile and makes some unhappy users.

I'm not saying to just that you can but you'll need to be within the character limit so say an author Id is 6 letters then you can only use 6.
My respond was aimed at the poster above saying It cannot be done and I recall a thread along time ago of some douche hex editing profiles and sharing.
But yes don't do it!!! The profiles may generate a checksum / md5 when created and obviously tampering is going to corrupt it (assuming it does these checks).
