Nice nero1983 ! Very few tracks have odd meters these days so it's nice to hear some playfulness, has Mastodon vibes.
-
Very cool waraba great sound and trip hop vibe. Great to hear your vocals again and good video!
-
Awesome MetalMauce ! Did you create the orchestral track too?

I could go on about the background for what made these bands click. I'm glad you enjoyed Big White Stairs. They were a very unknown little band whose single "Non Star" I came across in HMV on Tottenham Court Road that summer (at the time I was mostly listening to very typical mainstream "indie" i.e. Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Suede, and a smattering of stuff like The Loving Spoonful's Summer in the City, Massive Attack, James, Nina Simone, The Prodigy, Smashing Pumpkins, Joni Mitchell, Paul Weller, The Egg, Morrisey, Janis Joplin, Primal Scream, Zep, Ride, etc the usual 90's brit kids box). However knowing them opened doors! Because I happened to be into them it made me a great friend in one of my housemates at my university digs who happened to be a DJ on the local student radio station. Consequently he had many free tickets in to see shows in the Bradford/Leeds area and he had a car, so as a result the very first rock show I saw was Big White Stairs in Bradford. The room was empty apart from me, him, his girlfriend and the band but they did not lower the volume any... lol fulls tack Marshalls at 11. Should have brought earplugs! Otherwise I would have gone up and grooved rather than been plastered to the back wall in the booth at the far end of the venue... I think I still have tinnitus from that one.

Bernard Butler (of Suede) was the reason I picked up guitar in the first place. Though I never did get myself an ES-335 with a tremolo arm.

Inspirational playing Mats_Nermark really good background slide sounds too, bridging the blues country divide nicely. I'd never heard of Ruokangas before, they look fancy.
-
Cool concept, things get a little out of sync with the jody towards the end but I love the idea. Well done waraba !
-
Oh that's easy, you like it because of its inherent and instantly apparent awesomeness Mats_Nermark !
There's no rhyme or reason to taste I'm afraid, there's a line of thinking (Daniel Kahneman's "systems" idea) which says that we always react first then rationalize our reactions rather than ever really liking or disliking anything because of truly rational reasons. So I guess that means you can let yourself off the hook.
This track was meant to fit into the post modern glam style of 90's bands like Mansun, Big White Stairs, SpaceHog, Suede if it's any help. Very exaggerated call and response in the verse while the chorus resolutions and modulation is kinda influenced by marching band/Beatles and any number of cali-punk bands territory. I wanted more of a straight flow here between the sections so there's no attempt to really jump key or chords dramatically between the sections, instead it really just modulates. -
Cool track waraba ! I like the use of soft transients in there.
Don't worry about whether you can add vocals or not. Sometimes pressuring yourself works, sometimes it can be counter productive. The main thing is you got a track out there, you got the idea down and you can always revisit later and add vocals in when inspiration strikes again. -
Very cool sound and mix EL34 !
