When I save a stack it doesn't save volume setting.
As in the vol control knob setting on bottom right of Kemper.
So when I browse back to that stack it's still too loud !
Why doesn't volume get saved ?
It appears the only way to save vol with a store is to adjust vol of amp.
But it's more convenient to adjust & save via from front panel vol control.
Is this possible ?
When I save a stack it doesn't save volume level

The front panel control is not the "amplifier volume". It is the "rig volume", a different parameter.
-
I didn't say it was the amp vol. Besides since one is storing a rig then why is the front panel volume not also stored as part of that rig ?
-
The front panel (rig) volume is stored when a rig is stored. This is the Volume of the entire signal path of the Rig (including the input/output/mix of active stomps and effects).
If you store a Stack, the effects and stomps are not included, so the stored Stack may have a different volume than the Rig that originally contained the Stack.
-
''The front panel (rig) volume is stored when a rig is stored.''
But store says it's storing it as a 'rig'
Yet the front panel volume setting is not being stored -
''The front panel (rig) volume is stored when a rig is stored.''

Yet the front panel volume setting is not being storedIf you refer to the main volume: this never gets stored. Only rig volume is stored when storing a rig.
-
Is the main volume the one bottom right on the front panel ?
If so then it's naff that this isn't stored
In which case, am I correct in thinking the only volume I can store is the sum total of the effects volumes & the amp vol ? -
The bottom right Volume knob is the Rig Volume, and is stored when a Rig is stored.
You can bypass any stomps and effects, if you want to use the Rig Volume to set the level when you Store the amp/tone stack/cabinet without stomps and effects.
The upper right Main Volume/Master Volume is not stored.

I just tried this again. Sometimes on pressing 'store' one gets the option of replace, store as or rename.
Other times one only gets the option of 'store'
I don't know why, but I think this may have something to do with sometimes the vol not being stored -
Replace and Rename options will store the new rig volume (bottom right knob).
-
No the volume level is not being stored !
-
You must use the "entire rig" option in the Store menu when you want to store the entire rig including the rig volume setting.
-
Sometimes it only says 'store as'
Other times 'rename' & 'replace'
Why are the options random when pressing store ?
And why is vol not stored ? -
I'm storing as entire rig, yet it's still not storing the vol !

Which volume?
If RIG VOLUME doesn't get stored open a support ticket.
Master volume never gets stored - this is a feature. -
The volume as per that set by the volume on the bottom right of the front panel is not being stored.

I discovered the answer to the mystery. I'm opening the stack from my local library. But when I save the new version it saves to my profiler. I then need to drag the new version across to my local library & delete the older version. What a faff !
Seem's a little strange it does't save to my library. Since as one fine tunes & tweeks profiles to get them just right, then that's where would wish them be. Anyway at least I have a work around.
Unless there's a better way ? -
Well, it'll change in the RM folder that reflects your Kemper, which makes sense. It's important to be aware of the distinction between the library, which could be 50 000 Rigs, and what's loaded onto your Kemper, which is only ever going to be a tiny subset of that.
The folders in your local library are "the ultimate" storage-and-browsing pool, and whichever Rig you activate gets sent to the Kemper's patch buffer. As you've discovered, once re-saved, the Rig appears in your Kemper's folder in RM; what you do with it after that is up to you.
The upside of the way this works is that you're not likely to accidentally mess up settings in any Rig in RM's library 'cause you have to consciously delete it and drag the new, re-saved Rig from your Profiler's folder to the same location in order to replace it.
