Hi,
Example:
I do a search for "Delay" and the newest thread showing up is from 12. Januar 2014...
I do a search for "Midi" and the newest thread showing up is from 11. June 2013 ..
which is obviosly wrong!
Sort by date is chosen.

"Search results 1-20 of 1,000 for “MIDI”. There are more results available, please enhance your search parameters.
These terms were highlighted: MIDI"
There are too many search results to give you the most recent results. Do an Advanced Search - you can limit the results to a date range, specify MIDI has to be in the title of the thread, etc.
Thanks.. limit to a date range works for me.
Wouldn´t it be more logical to display the newest 1000 results (when over 1000)?
and: if i just search in the "Profiler-Discussion"-Forum I get "just" 410 results:
Suchergebnisse 1-20 von insgesamt 410 für „midi“.
and here too: first one from 2013 or so..
thanks
Martin
I agree. I personally don't care for how the "search" function works at all
Same here. Basic low-level searches should, at the very least, display results from most-recent backwards IMHO.
I've only used the feature a handful of times because I've found it frustrating overall. I'd love to be able to put a positive spin on it, given my nature, but when I can achieve instant gratification on other forums where I'm not even a member and can't do so here, well, there you have it.
noone should complain, if people keep starting new threads about things allready answered here in the forum. How should they find old topics?
I was taught to search for answers before posting my question.
Great idea , If the search function on this site worked easily. But it doesn't. So I can understand why so many start new threads
So yesterday I was searching for "Kemper bag" and newest post was from April 5th 2012. And no word "bag" in search results.

I'm guessing you searched for: Kemper Bag
It gave you all the Kemper results and all the bag results.
If you do a search for the phrase "Kemper bag" ( include the quotes), the newest result will be your above post from today.
Now I search for "bag" in subject and I search exact this word:

5 results:

Now I search using google:

And none of these results were in this forum's results. And there are 3 threads from 2016.

Often results from this forum's search engine are weird. I use google for searching for specific issues.

That changes everything @paults, thank you.
I wonder how many users know that trick...
