Can this be solved? I have no other issues with Windows so it seems this is a problem for the Rigmanager software.
I believe that's something you need to solve on your computer. Because we don't see that and we don't have any reports from other users. If it happens to anybody else, feel free to chime in.
IMHO, it's lack of desire to change/challenge assumptions and possibly technical debt of the software that leads to these limitations. There are several ways the current KPP hardware could support these with minimal compromise, and then there's midi and rig manager for those that need more control.
It’s always interesting to hear those comments from people who aren’t involved.
You can connect as many rig managers as you like and nothing will get out of sync because Rig Manager syncs when you launch the app. The sync is one way: from your Profiler to Rig Manager. That's why there is a 0% risk of something happening.
What you'd like is to share the content of one Rig Manager to another Rig Managers. And that's not a "common need". The vast majority of our users doesn't use more than one Rig Manager.

There is a way to setup the computers to store their data on a shared, cloud drive. There's a thread that describes this if you search for it, but its an unofficial method and you need to be careful to only use one device at at time (and fully sync before switching).

With a feature as complex as Profiling 2.0, edge cases are not unusual. They tend to emerge only when a broader range of users work with the feature. Which is why new uncaught issues frequently surface right after a public release and some of you wonder "why didn't they see that before releasing it ..." 😉
What does this mean for you? Unfortunately, it does result in more delay. But we’re making steady progress, and we’re not rushing the process. We just want to get this right.
So: May we know if Kemper can accept this feature request? A simple yes/no would be sufficient.

Well, if you don’t format it in the Kemper, then how do you quickly format it to get a clean slate for a backup?

We don't tie you to anything because you can format your USB stick using your Profiler. And Burkard takes about pre-formatted USB sticks. Nobody want to change anything. All that's been said is that you probably never have to format a stick anyway, hence there is no real need for a progress bar. So what's your problem here?

Formatting is the quickest way to have a clean slate on a usb stick.

The only thing that makes sense for backward compatability is to make MK2 profiles able to be used with the MK1 unit in a slightly lower resolution mode. This is what I think they said.

They’re simply different settings—there’s no fixed “model” or “original device.” Once you modify the settings, you’re no longer operating with the same configuration you had before. If we displayed the name the way you’re suggesting, it would quickly become misleading, because the configuration would no longer match what the name implies.
Consider what happens if you adjust the settings to closely emulate a different “original” drive: the name would remain the same, even though the behavior has changed. At that point, wouldn’t the name have to change as well to accurately reflect what’s being emulated?
I would hope they release a new Rig Pack that contains a bunch of V2 profiles in coordination with the firmware / RM.

I do not understand this kind of reaction to customers. Im am one till now and from the beginning. If you really believe to be at the right level in terms of search capability then change nothing but you are far from the state of the art. Thats very factual.
Could you clarify what you meant by “this kind of reaction to customers”? My intention was only to point out that recursive search is available through All Rigs, in case you weren’t aware. I didn’t comment on the validity of your feature request.
