Grabbed this some time ago. It's been my first pick ever since.
Has an installed Custom Shop Warren Demartini in the bridge which really compliments it's versatility. -
Godin are great guitars and they are very underrated so you can find them cheap. Have one myself, but I don't get to play it that much for I have enough to do with the seven strings I use with my band and it is a bit to heavy to play it standing thanks to the full mahagony body..

Outstanding gift if he is a guitar player.
I could / would been happy if my father could do the same at that time! -

I tried this Squier/Fender John 5 Telecaster at my local guitarshop. It was quite a surprise how good the feeling and sound was.
So I got myself this guitar and I'm going to put a Duncan Hot Rodded Set in it. -
My latest sixstringer might be the exact opposite if the one MentaL posted. It's a '59 neck and a 60's body. It looks like a coke-head with some sandpaper and a butter-knife did some real damage to it in the 70's. The neck is still in great shape still, and it plays and sounds amazing. I call her my "rescue dog". She's had a hard life, but she's getting a lot of love now.
The week I bought her, I was in a used car lot and found the broken car emblem that says "rough". I still can't figure out what car it broke off of, but it fit in the unused middle pickup position perfectly.

"Brougham" - model/style designation for some makes. File under almost useless information.

To the right is the most recent. 1996 EBMM Axis (first year after being the EVH model).

Cool EBMM Axis, I had two of the EBMM EVH guitars back in the '90s, still miss the purple one. They are great guitars. The Axis is awesome, love the necks.
I have a Fender EVH Custom Deluxe, she is sweet. -
I got the '96 to compare the Eddie spec to the new models. It's still nice, but I honestly prefer the compound radius and finish on the current models. The custom DiMarzio pickups, though... so great.
The others pictured are a 2010 EBMM Axis Super Sport (natural gloss) with the piezo pickup, and a 2009 EBMM Axis (black) where the previous owner dumbfoundingly took out the custom DiMarzio set for a DiMarzio Tone Zone in the bridge and a DiMarzio Air Norton in the neck. They sound good regardless but I'd rather have the custom set. I think he just had a thing for a pure black guitar. Even took off the cream volume knob for a black tone knob.
