I cannot remember the last time I demoed any profile pack (SLO or otherwise) that had me actually grinning from ear to ear.
Bert delivers, simple as that.

Display MoreHi Bert,
thank you for this pack. Unfortunately I don't have too much time at the moment to check everything out extensively but I played around a little bit with the performances and really love the 1960 performance, these five sounds alone are inspiring. Great sounding and nice dynamic interaction with the guitar volume pot.
And for me you have found the perfect way for liquid profile packs with your four folders. Most important are the real RAW rigs with cabs. One profile per channel with gain on 100% (maybe like you did one additional at 50% when it makes sense) and all other knobs on 50%, and this raw setting with different cabs - perfect. From here we should be able to dial in our perfect personal sound to our liking. Nevertheless it is nice to have some "ready to go" sounds like you did in the tweaked folder and in your performances. So for me the amount of profiles is absolutely ok. I personally will probably not use the DI profiles but I guess if you want to use a real guitar cab or an IR of your choice it is a great idea to have one real RAW DI rig per channel.
So again: The perfect way to do liquid profile packs - I wish all the other profile vendors would follow your example.
And please: Do not only burn some liquid into the existing Friedmann profiles but redo it from scratch the way you did the SLO, and then the JCM800, 5150 and the Bogner. And maybe you can get your hands on a Mesa Dual Recti!?
Cheers
Tom
Thank you Tom for your valuable response. That's very helpful and nice to hear!!!
For me, this is confirmation that I probably made the right choice in setting up the pack.
Probably take your advice about the Friedman, JCM800, 5150 and the Bogner. Unfortunately the Bogner isn’t in the amp list yet, I hope Kemper will come up soon with that one.. It’s a pretty essential amp imo. Complex to model I guess..
One word. Wow. I have purchased at least a dozen Kemper profile packs for the Soldano SLO 100. I found one I really like and it's been my daily driver for years. The others have been one and done. Demoed them and deleted them. I cannot remember the last time I demoed any profile pack (SLO or otherwise) that had me actually grinning from ear to ear. The OD channel tweaked profiles with the 1960 cabs are outstanding. I cannot believe I only paid ten bucks for this pack. Well done!
Thank you for your great reply, good and nice to hear!!!
I can't believe I'm selling this for 10 bucks myself....
Great work as usual, Bert. Great sounding profiles! I prefer the "tweaked" versions, as a more quick way to achieve a sound that I like. But it's great to have all those "Raw" profiles. Congratulations! Best SLO profiles so far.

That's 'cause you're an asshole mate.

Thank you for reminding me to that
Just wanted to mention that those SLO profiles are VERY good after tweaking. And thanks for 'giving' them away.
I am curious how you tweak them and how you are listening to them. I find almost all to be very bass heavy and in need of large tweaks to definition and to the bass. These are really good profiles once I adjust them. I really enjoy the fatness especially on the unwound strings which often sound thin to me on most profiles. This aspect is really good for me. Also, the touch sensitivity can be adjusted really nicely.
Thanks for the great profiles.

Thank you. A feeling is starting to creep up on me that I have set the introduction price way too low....
I myself use my profiles without cabs both in the studio and live....
So I'm particularly fixated on making it sound super good in the studio and on inears. In addition, of course, I check on real cabs. Could it be that you have a cab with a lot of low?
Anyway, as long as it sounds good in the end ...

I only listen on studio monitors or good PA cabs. I wouldn't characterize any of them as having a lot of low end. The quality of the speaker has a large impact on the sound IME. Cheap to mid-level speakers and PA monitors color the Kemper tones to a great degree and the variation is wide. I have some PA cabs that I won't use with the Kemper because the reproduction is so poor.
In any case, I was simply curious how you monitor. I can easily tweak your SLO LP profiles to get VERY good tones. Thanks again.
Last night I tried the red channel of Bert‘s Bogner profile with the LP of the SLO overdrive - whow, really impressive
How well do these new SLO LP do the less driven Warren Haynes / Gov't Mule tones?
In the 2023 Rig Rundown Warren tells his Soldano's are all modified to maintain low end even with low gain settings. It is said that in practice this mod is basically just removing the bright cap across the volume pot. And I've understood that this (bright cap value change) can be now done also with newest firmware?
So in theory, it should be possible to nail these tones.., at least equipment wise.
It's uncanny how close to real thing these profiles sound.
I don't need any new profile , not even interested in soldanos, but I acquired the pack to support fantastic Bert's commitment on profiling.
That said , one of the tweaked lower gain 1960 went to my personal folder BM SLO A 1960E
At the offered price, these are a no brainer for many I suspect so total sales might be expanded well beyond the pool of people who would pay twice as much - which still doensn't sound all that excessive.
I, for one, am glad that leading profilers like Bert are embracing Liquid Profiling and offering all of us in the KPA fraternity a new generation of top notch profiles to enjoy.

I mentioned the bass content in my post above. This set of profiles is REALLY good, but were extremely bass heavy and congested before tweaking. I would say I had the opposite problem that you describe in your post.
Clean means different things to different people. I found what I call 'fat' cleans by using a 1960 crunch profile. I turned the gain down, adjusted the definition, and bass knob to get rid of 'congestion'. The result is a very nice profile with good cleans and touch sensitivity. It requires very light picking to maintain an acceptable clean for me, but I can push it into overdrive by increasing my pick attack.
I also use this profile by increasing the gain to get into heavier drive when I want it.
This profile has become one of my favorites.
Clean, rhythm and lead, all SLO liquid profiles!!

Hi Bert !
These profiles sounds great. Can I please ask ... when you do your Profiles do you use a Load Box -or- do you Tap off a DI from the Real Speakers to get the real-speaker-impedance-load into the Profile being made (?)
Many thanks,
Ben

Thanks Ben!! It’s the second option
Thanks Ben!! It’s the second option
That's great Bert !
Load Boxes do serve a particular need and purpose - but compared to a connection with a real speaker cab - they really "fluff
-out" the low end accuracy and really mess with the mid-to-higher end transients when using them in a Profiling / Capturing Process like with a Kemper [or Tonex, NAM, QC etc...]
I'm -not- a Soldano fan ... I must be one of the few ..... but hint hint .... would be very excited for some all time classics that are in the current list of Modeled Amp Channels like a JTM45 / AC30 / Plexi / JCM 800 / Fender Deluxe ...... those 5 amps alone would probably cover %99.99 of peoples guitar needs ... excluding ultra-hard-rock-metal.
All the best,
Ben

Haha, indeed probably one of the few
Working on a jcm800 (Kerry King), Fender bassman (‘69) and showman (‘62).. also on some other great amps. It’s fun making them
I’ll keep you posted!!
