Wow, I'm really impressed with the Bypass@Heel speed on the Wah now. Before, playing at a reasonable tempo, it could take more than a quarter note to shut off - not very good for tight metal. Now it's less than an eighth.

so if you installed the beta version of 2.7 do you need to re-install the public release? i tried to do this, but when i insert my usb stick, nothing happens. i was out of town this weekend, when i got home i installed the 2.7 beta. came to the forums half hour later and see its officially released. is it the exact same thing? do you need to downgrade then install the public release?
-
The official Release notice said they are "functionally identical", and there is no need to upgrade if you are on 2.7 beta.
-
k, thanks, much appreciated. i never downloaded a beta before so i wasn't sure
-
Understood - it doesn't hurt to check. It is possible that an official release may have a feature that was not in a public beta release.
-
I'd just upgrade to the stable release version. Doesn't hurt.
-
I'll stick to beta version.
-
Gotta install it as soon as I´m back with my kemper

Check the subversion number, it might be the OR has been recompiled or something
-
I guess the definitive answer is that you don't need to upgrade, as per the sticky note on the firmware release. Clearly states you don't need to upgrade!

A "public beta" and a "release" are the same binary only tagged with different "text strings". But it is the result of the same compilation. This way, it can be ensured that something declared as public beta will work as release, too. -
thanks Timo, good to know

This upgrade solved the minor crackling sound I was getting after loading some rigs. Was no big deal but the upgrade is a nice touch.
-
There is a lot of crackle and digital noise while tweaking the CAB module's parameters. And digital hiss appears very early if I tweak a little the Character and High/Low Shift params.
Anyone can confirm this? I can remember this from 2.6 (don't know before). For me the crackling is still on 3.2.1
