Nice.
But a bit bulky maybe?
The official Kemper road case would be bulky, too. But, this one would have room in the back for the Foot Controller.
Nice job!

Very very nice
Yes, 19" is wider than necessary, but this rack is not so deep however - only 23 cm, and lightweight plastic too. And the most important - knobs etc. are safely protected during my gigs
Great! And your rack has LED's around the knobs.
Can I ask where you got or how you made the brackets for it? Right now I have mine in my rack with the Styrofoam and packing materials it came with keeping it in place.
Thanks,
J
A standard rack tray could be pretty easily used for mounting - if it doesn't have holes that line up with the screw holes for the Kemper's feet, drill some holes in the shelf, and mount the Kemper to it.

From the local shop of construction materials. A bit of sawing and drilling ... and 2 EUR
And I like the fact that the body of the Kemper itself remained unchanged, even the original screws was used
PS. Sorry, English is not my strongest side ...

Thanks raen, that's helpful.
Right now I have the kemper at the bottom of the rack with a blank shelf above it to hold it in place but, that doesn't stop it from sliding around. That's why I have the packing materials in there.
This looks like something worth trying!

Did you mount the bottom also or just the two screws for the handle?
I'm looking for a good solution ro mount my toaster in a rack, because I want to have my wireless units connected to it all the time.
Hey Andy,
I ended up getting a rack shelf (Middle Atlantic Products UTR1) and mounting the bottom of the KPA to it. The shelf itself has holes/slots on it that you can mount to.
What I did is unscrew the feet and remove the rubber parts. Then using the original screws, you mount those to a washer and use washers as spacers to go between the unit and the shelf (there is a bit of space underneath that you need to make up for since the KPA isn't totally flat on the bottom). On that shelf, the feet holes line up just right in the larger slots. You can't get it exactly centered on the shelf but it is very solid and immoveable.
Then I mount the shelf in a 6U Gator Shallow Rack. It's still pretty light with this setup and if you mount the shelf with the space below it you have room for the remote cable and a few other things. But you can mount it in anything larger and it takes up just around 5U total space.
I should also note that the back of the shelf bends downward slightly over time so I also used a spacer to keep the back part of the shelf supported. The screws and washer will also stick out below the shelf so you may or may not be able to mount another unit directly below it depending on what it is. But you can always put the KPA at the bottom if needed.
Too much info, I know, but hope that helps!

Hey J,
thank you for the quick response! I just bought a used Gator Shallow 6u Rack and already have a shelf lying around.
I hope I can mount my wireless unit in there too, so looking forward to mount everything in there
I like the idea but you guys should have purchased a Kemper rack unit instead. Lol

Many people bought their Toasters before KPA racks were available
I wanted to buy a rack unit, but got a used toaster for a good price I couldn't resist

I very much prefer the head with LED-rings on the most important knobs for live use on dark stages. The Kemper head and my 1U L6 G90 wireless-receiver fit nicely in a shallow 6U rack. The remote and the wireless transmitter are attached with Velcro straps inside the front lid. The back-lid has space for two expression-pedals and is fitted with folding legs so that it can be used as a small table/stand for the unit. Finally I added a 19" power-strip in the back with power-cables made to length and a strip of LEDs to light up the back of the unit so that it is easy to work on in dark spaces. It's a compact, but heavy unit. I'm looking for something similar to a shallow version of SKBs 6U rolling rack. I have the deep 6U rolling rack for other gear, but it is too bulky to use with the profiler.

that sounds interesting!
Could you make a pic of all that? Especially the lids with the remote.
How heavy is the unit in total?

I bought my KPA years before the rack unit came out. When I got mine the rack unit was just a rumor with no hope of ever coming out, just like the remote was (and now spring reverb, haha).

I was just having fun with everyone but we have seen some good responses and interesting ways of adapting cases. Good on everyone.
i don't miss having the LEDs on some knobs as I have a rack conditioner that has front lights, so seeing on stage is not an issue.
