Has anyone ever succeeded in connecting a new rj45 connector on these cables?
I don't know what tot do with outer wire (earth). Connecting it to the metal part of a fresh rj45 connector doesn't work. The remote fires up but won't get past the 'waiting for connection'.

Anyone?

I had no luck with those clips.

Thanks. I did all that but no luck. Mysterious!

I figured it out; I dissected the RJ45 connector. The way Kemper connects the 8 wires to the RJ45 connector is irregular.
To correctly wire a RJ45 connector (seen from the clip-side, left tot right)=
Brown, light-brown
Green, light BLUE
Blue, light GREEN
Orange, light orange
Kemper.. why?

I’ve always used off-the-shelf, rj45 cables with no issues
-
I've used off the shelf cables without issue, too. Did you previously have your cable wired as a crossover cable?

Guilese: this doesn't look correct: a RJ45 cable consists of twisted pairs (hence the name 'UTP' = [U]nshielded [T]wisted [P]air), and the way you describe it will break the twist of the pairs !
The colouring as such is electrically not relevant. But the correct pairing/twist *is* important:
1 = pair1A
2 = pair1B
3 = pair2A
4 = pair3A
5 = pair3B
6 = pair2B
7 = pair4A
8 = pair4B -
There is nothing special about the way the Kemper cable is wired.
I use a custom cable made right in front of me, at a local computer/network repair shop. I watched the guy strip the twisted pairs and configure the plug the same as any of the hundreds of network cables he’s done. It works 100%.
I also use a castoff RJ45 cable that I leave at the rehearsal space. That also works without issue. -
This is a pic of the original Kemper Remote rj45 connector.

Yes: that looks correct. It is the layout a RJ45 connector should have.

Clearly not? Solid green paired with light blue? Solid blue paired with light green?
-
yes it is: that's the way a RJ45 is laid out... google it and you'll find it.
