Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a Mission Engineering expression pedal for doing wah-wah with the KPA.
Which model should I get? Don't want to get the wrong one.
Cheers,

Hi Mats
I think Scott would be the person to ask, he's pretty much an expert on the Mission pedals, he uses two with his Axe I think.

Yes, I though of getting the question to him but it seems like Mission is doing something to their pedals to make them work especially with certain product so I though of asking here first for some first hand experience.

I use an EP1 and is fine, though for wha only I would consider getting the spring-loaded one

Thanks! Don't want spring load as I don't know what funny stuff Christoph may come up with and don't want to be boxed in. I might even get the SP-1. Did you buy yours direct from Mission?

Yep, if I remember correctly it was 140-ish US$

I know you're just asking about the Mission pedals models, but wonder if you have checked out the BOSS FV-500H/-500L: Volume/Expression Pedals? I'm debating if I'll go with these instead of the Mission, but for sure you can't go wrong with the Mission pedals, I find the BOSS a little more comfortable under the foot, not so much for Wah, but for other stuff like volume etc.

Hi,
I already have a Boss FV-500L and that doesn't work very well. Spoke to Christoph the other day and he says Boss FV-500H is the pedal to get so I ordered one and that should be here by next week. I will use that for volume but being an old guy and having grown up on Cry Babies I think the Mission will offer a more familiar feel for wah and other real time filter fx.

Hi Mats, did you get any specifics from CK on why the H is a better match than the L version for KPA?
That's my feeling too as described here in post 6 & 9:

Thanks for any info you may have!

Hi,
I spoke to a Roland guy today and he said he didn't know nor did he understand why there would be a difference between the H and the L versions. He told me he would contact one of their tech guys and try to find out.
CK didn't state any exact reasons but he hinted at the potentiometer to adjusts the volume have different ohm values and that may affect the expression output as well.

Thanks Mats, much appreciated.

I ended up ordering the SP-2 Mission pedal, it will do the work of 2 expression pedals in my case with the MFC, hope it will work as well with the KPA.
I've wired up 2 of the LG mission pedals to my board, and one set for another client. Both of us uses the Gordius LG as our foot controller.
Can't go wrong with the beauty, and built of the mission engineering pedals!
I'm using two SP1-LF's and they work perfectly!

_Love_ this setup. I want to get a LF JR+ too, but the cost scares me.
I have a GCP right now and I think it's too darn big and doesn't do any special stuff like trigger MIDI notes.
Things are also up in the air right now with the Kemper controller and performance mode. I'd like to have all the information before I pull the trigger on something new. Could be a while.
Mats... what expression pedal did you end up buying and did it turn out perfect for you - especially regarding your beta work with the pitch shifting Whammy type stuff?

I like the way you manage your cables! I don't want to be out of topic but could you just tell me what you use to fix them on the board?
It looks like velcro squares are used to hold them in place.

Yes, it looks like this! Very convenient, more flexible than than my tie-rap.
I got the Mission pedal that is green. The EP1-KP-GN model.
I don't gig, just home stuff. It's cool. I got it working with Wah, Pitch, etc no problem.
Don't know how it compares with other pedals. But it's Green so that's all that matters...
