Argh. I wish I'd seen this thread before I purchased a new cable from Kemper.

Thank you!! i just bought a kemper. the first thing that crossed my mind is : wow this cable is shit, and the input for it on the back of the kemper as well. just ordered 2 cables thanks you so much, it does look like the best solution out there. cheers

I bought one of these in green and couldn't be happier.
Do you have a link to the green one on Amazon? Thanks!

Why does no one manufacture a right-angle ethercon connector? I play a lot of small, crowded venues and live in fear that someone will stomp on the plug.
-
Its weird, but I've never had an issue with my cable after 3 years of gigging...
I wish they would affer a wireless capability anyway...there must be a way to have an external ethernet wireless transceivers, obviously the remote side would require phantom power capability to power the remote...
Anyone clever enough to do this!! The cable woes then disappear!!

Being new to this Kemper malarky and only just having ordered the remote this morning, is the connecting lead wired as a standard RJ45 (A or B network cable) or are the connections unique?
-
I have wished this myself. I use right angle connectors to my pedal board. But alas no ethercon connector

Standard RJ45...

Standard RJ45...
Superb so I can make up my own leads to suit.

Yes, but you better check the manual about the remote , it´s very clear about what will work with the remote.
-
If you have more than 25 feet of remote cable, you'll need a PoE device to amplify the signal, that's in the manual, including which PoE devices are tested and recommended.

This 30 footer has been working fine for me since May (knock on wood). This brand is mentioned elsewhere in this thread. I own 10, 20 and 30 foot versions. Six thumbs up.

Cabling
The PROFILER and PROFILER Remote communicate with each other via an ethernet cable. The cable included in the PROFILER Remote package with its Neutrik® etherCON® cable connector carrier has been carefully selected and is perfectly suited for this purpose. If you decide to use any 3rd party cable, please make sure it meets our quality standards.
The diameter of the wire is the critical factor. The cable delivered with the Remote meets American Wire Gauge 24 (AWG), which can support up to 7.5m (22ft) length. AWG 26 cables have a smaller diameter and can only support up to 5m (15ft). Cables with higher AWG e. g. AWG 28 should not be used with the Remote.
Cables in excess of 10m (30ft) might require a Power over Ethernet Injector (PoE Injector).
Posinator is correct, 30ft is the recommended length limit, without a PoE injector. I've also been using a 25ft version of this cable, works great:

I had to securely use a small connecter cable and mount a small plug in on my rack case..... as my cable would never stay in to the cheesy female end on the Kemper.

It seems that a simple RJ45 cable will not work with the Remote. It has to be at least CAT5e cables with AWG not higher than 26, according to the manual.
The Elite Core PROCAT5E is a great option, any right angled alternative you guys would recommend?
Other option is changing the connector to the PROCAT5E. I've found this angled connector, but it's CAT6A. Do you think it could work?

No problems with the 30' length?

Has anyone had problems with the 30' length cable? What is the AWG on this cale? Doesn't say on the link.

Same here. It's a flat one that came with a Sonos speaker
I just have the remote on top of the toaster on my table at home when I'm goofing/testing/practicing etc.

No problems at all with 30' length after 6 years.
