Just so everyone knows, I'm still not able to use the link for some reason, but Mick very-generously stepped in and sorted me out via PM, unsolicited.
What a star he is!

Get your AJFA on with this awesome Mesa Boogie MK III profile.
This was a quick test to see what it sounded like and I love it.
To Rectifier cab with single SM57 to API mic pre.
Amazing amp.
Much prefer it to the MK IV and MK V 25 I had before.
This is so raw and aggressive.
No boost.

Display MoreThe Bluesbreaker turned out to be a half working over gigged heap of junk. #BluesbrokenBut I bought an ENGL Fireball for a great price.
I had one of these before and loved it, then traded up to a Powerball which was muddy rubbish.
Always missed the Fireball and this one came up at a price I couldn't turn down.
Full pack coming soon =]
Did a quick reamp test into Marshall 2x12 using a track by a band I work with in the studio.
Sounds awesome.
Looking forward to getting it profiled through all my cabs.

This is also a quick test how it sounded......
THX for this profile Mick! You know I am a boogie fan
Killer demo Frank.
Thanks a million for doing this.
Sounds open and dynamic just like the real amp.
I'm looking forward to really exploring the huge array of sounds this amp can make. The pull functions on the pots change the sound dramatically and it also has class A and simul class modes.
Its a great beast. I changed the cab to my prefered 2x12 mesa boogie cab. Its awesome powerfull.
killer sound! Thanks for the preset and the demo!
Cheers
Thank you, as always, Mick.

Hi Mick,
When you produce your full commercial pack of the MK III, will you include some high gain profiles with a normal EQ setting (flat, or slight mid boost)? I cordially dislike the heavily scooped mid EQ curve and resulting tone, personally.
Edit -- Thank you, as always, for the free demo, and teaser for your upcoming work.
Cheers,
John

Hi John, you can also reach tones like you described with a small tweak of the main eq. These profiles interact perfectly, like others do as well. You can also reduce the gain and the character of the profile stays on. These profiles are very dynamic and also the volume knob and the tone knob of my strat like them.
There are a large amount of settings in this amp that change its character. When I get around to doing the pack, I will get as many as I can profiled.
Drive without graphic will absolutely be included.
I could be wrong but a lot of these commercial guys hear the high-mid profiling issues, which is why I assume so many high gain profiles are scooped, to help hide what would otherwise be exaggerated.
Maybe, but that is just the common eq setting for a Mesa heavy sound....

It is, but most metal profiles of other amps are also scooped to hell.
Well not too scooped. You need a little more mids than you think to make the guitars cut thru in a mix. Unless you want a fizzy as hell sound like Dimebag's sound. Awful if you ask me. Never was a fan of his sound.
Yes. The mesa mark series classic V shape graphic.
My high gain profiles have lots of mids.
I avoid fizz by sending pink noise to the amp to place the mic(s).
When listening to the mic on the cab through high quality closed headphones , the pink noise makes the high mid harshness really obvious and easy to avoid.
I have also found profiles to sound fuller and less fizzy with the mic a little more off axis than when I'm recording an amp.
I often mix 2 mics too to push the mid range over the harsh highs. Current favourite combination is modern sm57 and vintage shure 545.
This all adds up to clear uncongested profiles.
Thanks for these tips michrich!
Thought I'd share this. It's using mainly TMS Triple Rec profiles. Lead guitar is the TMS TREK MF4 MDRN2TS only change really was to the sound gate. Usual High and Low pass EQing in the mix. Rhythm guitars were quad recorded. Two are from the same pack, the other two are a SinMix one and a MBritt one. But you can't really hear those separately in any way, they just all seemed to sound good together to me.
Got a beautiful light crunch sound with the Mesa MK3 into Bogner cab in the studio today so decided to profile it.
Here you go =]

That's awesome.
Sounds like something that would be on a Mad Max film soundtrack
