Any new pick-users?
I'm now playing my favourite pick for several months and I played a whole tour (January/February) with it:It lasts much longer than the picks I used before (Dunlop Delrin 1.5 mm), in the end it's not more expensive.
After this whole pick search, I found that I don't like the tone of the Dava Control Grip gels that I've been using for a couple of years, but I love the feel and haven't found anything to match them. I tried a few of those mega expensive whataretheycalled Bear picks, but they were horrible for me. Then I went to see Paul Gilbert's "masterclass" a couple of weeks back and got a few of his picks as part of an aftershow meet and greet. They're Dunlop Tortex and very thin at 0.5mm compared to what I'm used to, but surprisingly comfortable and very usable for rock playing styles. Jingly jangly stuff gets a bit too jangly for my tastes with thinner picks and I don't think I'm quite ready to jump ship again right now, but maybe towards the end of the year I'll start looking at thinner picks. It goes against everything I thought was logical, as my picks have only gotten thicker through the years!
