QuoteYour guitar, tho, is fantastic looking! What kind of pickups?
Still has the stock "Fat 50s" and I will probably keep them.
I know what you mean about the painted headstock, it would have looked great, but I still keep this one!

Inspired by sambrox' Folreden Strat I've got myself a new pickguard. As a matter of fact it is on my newest bass, so I hope it counts for this thread
The pickguard was painted by Emma Klemets
Yes! Very very nice!
Don't even look, Sam. LOL
Pfwoah...

Man! I just love those soap bars! Watch out that US Customs doesn´t deprive you of your fretboard my friend!!! Keep those Eco certificates handy!

I got major love for made in Japan guitars, actually I sold recently my Prs Custom 24 so I only have Mij guitars in my arsenal now(Edwards,Fugijen and Tokai) .
Since your a Tokai dealer here´s a cool one for you:
[Blocked Image: http://s30.postimg.org/49fncqtdt/IMG_1671.jpg]
it's a ES188 (i believe they are now rebranded as ES196 to reflect the price increase).
Coincidentally it was the last guitar I bought (so I'm on topic ).

Oh boy!!!, what a guitar that is, top of the line 335 model in Tea Burst. ...nothing, and I mean nothing beats that guitar at any price...and it sounds like heaven with the stock MK11 Tokai pickups.
Actually, it's now the ES210.
If yours is an older model it might have better specs than the ES210...yours might still have a Honduras Mahogany neck...no more Honduras neck on the 210 model.

Yup, mine comes with the Honduras mahogany neck.
The guitar is amazing and ,I got it for a great price because I bought it used.
The premium stuff from Tokai is amazing.
I've posted a pic of this before and this is when Lance shipped it to me so it still had the sticker on it. It's lovely I got it just over a year ago and it's my joint favourite guitar. How's that for Japanese love?

And the one it's joint favourite with is this one, which I've again put a pic on this forum about somewhere or other!

I've seen Tim Pierce play something similar to that PRS in one of his Youtube videos. If I'm correct, it sounds very much like a mid LP, since the guy who helped make it came to PRS from Gibson. I've got a PRS 408, but this one would be my next model. Sorry, I'm not very good with names.
Hi,
It's a PRS Stripped '58. As I understand it, there intention was to make something close to the original Gibsons so it has the '58 pickups that are apparently wound upon the thighs of a virgin who works with Les Paul. Or some such thing that their marketing dept dreamed up anyway Also, it's supposed to look rustic as opposed to 'pretty'. I'm not sure the mineral stripes would make it onto many of the PRS out there as they'd be considered as a flaw but I love them.
Whatever their intent, it's lovely. It plays beautifully and the pickups are very low output.... For most of the things I attempt to do, this is a good thing but they would not be to everyone's taste. I am fortunate enough to have other guitars but to be honest? I play A.N. Other about 10% of the time. The other 90% is an even split between this PRS and the Tokai Goldtop.
No Japanese guitars? Pfft.

This is my most recent guitar - bought in '98, most recent because I've not found any instrument I'd trade it for. Love this thing, it can do any style of music, stays perfectly in tune, great pickups, amazing feeling neck (no lacquer on it), looks bonkers.
If you insist on American instruments this is my bass (kind of...)

Custom built by the lovely people at Stick.com, bamboo neck with a metal plate over the bottom four strings to make it half fretless. Surprisingly the metal board gives a really warm, organic growl, not what you'd expect at all.
That bass is fully-sick, man.

Great instrument
Clever Idea - How is the tuning?
