I know a few people on this forum were looking for potential replacement or "backup" Ethercon to RJ45 cables. I found someone on eBay that builds them. I thought I would share the link. The price is VERY reasonable too. I hope this helps: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3614029112…K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Cool!
And welcome! -
A Kemper branded replacement cable is now also available from the Kemper online store. Its ships worldwide and is tested to work with the Remote.

As I expected would happen, even though I have been very careful, the plastic locking tab has broken off of the Kemper end of the Kemper cable. It's part of a cable/midi snake and probably snagged on something.
The replacement cable I bought as a spare has a rubber protector so the tab cannot snag. Also it has a 90deg end that I use on the remote side
Kemper should think about having this protection on there next run of cables as I will not buy another one with an expose lock tab

Could you guys supply a much shorter cable (say 3 m) as well? On small stage 5 m of rigid cable make just a mess
I'd buy one immediately and also believe that many would use it say at home or in their small studios.
Last but not least, it would better fit one of the pockets of the Kemper bag -
... probably snagged on something.
I have snagged mine as well, more than once. Been lucky so far as the plastic tab has not broken off yet. It's only a matter of time....

Same here.

It's only a matter of time. I was being very careful to try and keep it tucked inside the roll, BUT!!!!

A big thanks to you, I've unfortunately broken my tab also. Seems like a waste of a cable. Every time I play my Kemper now, at least once while using it in a couple hour period the foot controller just shuts down and has to turn back on. It's weird because I'm not moving or touching the cable, at least I don't think I am. It's happened live before and I started freaking out, fortunately we were in a transition in between songs so it wasn't that bad, however it reset me to a different tone than I wanted. Could this be related to my tab missing and the cord coming loose do you think? Have any of you heard of this happening?

I would guess that the missing tab might have something to do with it. The connections on the RJ-45 end of the connector are pretty small and it wouldn't take much to dislodge them. The link I posted for the replacement cable does come with a protective boot. I have been using the replacement every week and keeping the original supplied by Kemper as a spare! Hope this helps
