Just stumbled upon this:
Seems like the guys from Line 6 may be finally back with something real interesting in the KPA/Axe-ballpark.
What do you think?

Wow, I wasn't expecting that kind of price from a line 6 floorboard..
It looks cool, nice interface, but.. Many pictures, many informations and just a single (produced) sample.. Hmm....
I got the email for this to today. I'd like to hear more of it and have a good play with it to find out what it's really like
well spoken:

i totally agree with the "Volkswagen"-Toaster, i like the Amps on the Kemper, but that´s all.
Using knobs and Menues without having a modern software is a shame, sorry..........
wow that's what the Remote should have looked like !
Yeah! It would have to be some kind of huge improvement to get me back to Line6
+1 on the remote. I'm finding it to limiting at $600
It will be interesting to see if it's all hype. I mean it's three times the price of the PodHD. Therefore it should be more than just a more user-friendly POD. It does mean that the used PodHD market is gonna be flooded, and they supposedly make decent midi controllers for the Kemper.
Looks cool. I always get nervous when I see buttons and dials meant to be used by hand on a pedal board that will get some heavy footed action. Always worry about how long those will function and last.

The proof is in the pudding. There wasn't a lot in the way of audio samples and Line6 has a history of poor construction quality. But from the short video and website this looks on the surface at least to be pretty sweet.
I'm very interested. Lots of features and the GUI and design are impressive. I could see running my KPA through one of the fx loops and then getting the multitude of effects plus control of the KPA and my Variax all at the same time.
Cheers,

Looks like a Pod HD500 with doubled DSP in a Liquid Foot LF+ Controller plus expression pedal. Could be a winner.

..plus custom cab IR support, the biggest obstackle in the HD Pod's sound quality imo. Interesting to hear more..

Love the individual graphic displays for each button.
In the video they talk a lot about the design and not the sound... Is it "same shit different wrapping"?
I do like that they have focused on the user experience, but it has to sound good as well.

Don´t worry. It will not take more than 2 years that they will release the next "revolution". You will have to buy a new box anyway then.
The new Helix is very nice indeed and it is not cheap at all!
If it is not as good as they promise, it will be a great flop.
Who's going to spend 1.500 bucks for something that is just attractive if it doesn't sound great?
It costs the same money as the new Fractal FX8...
If I had to buy one of the two, without trying them, I would go for Fractal...
We will see....
I'm skeptical like those above, but maybe the fact they have the resources of Yamaha behind them means this could be different. Either way, it's purely intellectual interest as I'm good with my Kemper and some external stomp boxes. The only thing that could be better for me compared to a real amp is the interface.
Just found a detailed review:

and once the market is saturated with Kemper units, do you not think the same will happen? It would be foolish to think that they can continue past 4 years with the same product, especially in the area of guitar. They are in this business to make $$$. If they weren't, the price would not have climbed to where it is now. I remember getting my first Kemper unit $1599/Can.$ 3 years ago. That was an amazing price. Last time I picked up a rack up here a year and half later it was up to $2200. The first PodHD came out in 2010, so it's been around a bit more than 2 years. Yes, they did update it to the HDX units but the older units are still available.
I'm just glad there is more competition in the marketplace. It gives us more choices and perhaps steps the bar up for other companies to build an even better product. In the end, we get some great sounds out the deal!
I think this product looks really nice and sounds great from what I have heard so far. Can't wait to check it out!
