You should make a group instead of a page - there's already an official KPA page, so having a separate fan one without a group attached doesn't make much sense.
-
There already is one with 2600 odd members
-
I think it makes more sense to use the official forums as opposed to a third party website.

Yes, no need to reinvent the wheel.

What would the advantage of a separate forum be?

What would the advantage of a separate forum be?
(Genuinely interested in the answer!)Unfettered and non company-monitored discussion/criticism/bitching about the product and company, a better UX for certain types of discussions/sharing, nobody is able to hide behind a keyboard/username, the ability for the community itself to boot/ban members who we don't want in there.

Well, a new forum could easily be monitored and observed by members of the company without anybody even knowing it.
Also AFAIK the current facebook group is a private initiative as well.
Thirdly the current group is not moderated in a strict way.
I don't see anything here that is missingx.
Just my 2c. -
The official forum has everything I need. The rationalizations given for a Facebook presence don't carry weight with me.
-
If it's not for you then it's not for you; nobody's forcing you to join or acting like you have to.
There is a difference in tone between discussing a product on a company-specific forum and on an unaffiliated one; look at the difference between, say, this or the Seymour Duncan Forum vs Rig-Talk, Gearslutz, Ultimate Metal, the various FB groups, etc. It's just a different vibe, and some people don't need, want, or benefit from that. Some do.

I see your points, and I agree. I'd not join because I'm already on tomany forums, but I am not against your initiative (there also are Kemper-related FB groups tho, as it has been noticed already).
I'd just note that it's quite easy to hide in FB as well, except to FB admins.
BTW, what is a UX?
-
UX : User Experience ( someone also mean user tracking by a company, someone is watching us....).
BTW: i am also not against a forum, i am against facebook. Not my cup of tea. -
Oh, thanks
As for me, I prefer the UX given by this very forum. The fact that you can't reply to individual posts or you have to tag the author but miss the quotation (unless you do it by hand) makes long discussions very hard to follow for my tastes.
BTW, Happy Easter
