Cheers,
SamThat's great! I had the exact same thing happen - my old ProCo direct box works with Speaker Level signals, too.

I got the Pro Co in the mail today. Plan on testing it in the morning. Sweet water had a good deal on them.

The EMO Systems E525 is actually a pretty versatile box!
What a pleasant surprise! I should really pay more attention to my own equipment...Cheers,

I love those rare days when I find useful gear that's forgotten. -
The pro co works great. It delivers a signal for me close to the 0 db mark on the input. Quiet as a mouse.

That's great to hear I'll definitely be using mine to make some new profiles.

Hey!
You're talking about Proco CB1 or Proco IT-1 ?
Thanks!

Proco CB1 or Proco IT-1
The IT1 is only for Line Level devices. The CB1 can handle Speaker Level signals.

A bit expensive.

The Whirlwind IMP2 is working very good to me!

You wouldn't be able to connect the IMP 2 between the amplier and speaker. It can't be used for Speaker Level signals.
"The IMP 2 converts a line or instrument level unbalanced signal to a low impedance mic level balanced signal."
-
I thought I could use the line unbalanced high parallel output to connect the speaker. I probably ran a serious risk of damaging the amp or the speaker . I will not use more that way , but it worked . Thank U!

Better to be safe than sorry
When making Direct Amplifier Profiles, the Direct Box goes between the Speaker Out and the speaker. That's why the direct box must be able to accept Speaker Level signals.

I tried my Countryman Type 85 between amp and speaker succesfully. One of the best DI Box out there.
Mainly I use it to split signal at home, one to the Kemper and the other to the audio interface. This way I can simultaneosly record DI and processed. DI sound awesome. -
Hi, i'm looking to get a DI box to do some direct profiles of my Diezel Herbert which is a 180 watt head.
What do I need to look out for when choosing a DI box?Would something like this do the job?

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/6788…Direct_Box.htmlAt $7.99, I think you just set a record for least expensive direct box
And, yes, it looks like it can be used - the manufacturer indicates:
"You can connect all kinds of audio signals like guitars, keyboards, outboard signal processors and even high-powered speaker output from an amplifier." -
-40 dB attenuation should be fine, as long as you're not profiling at EXTREME volumes. Nice find!
