To day I'm using a Ernie Ball VP JR (25k) as an expression pedal. It is well built and works very well. I really like the small footprint.

But, Will it work with the Remote? The pedal has a logarithmic (audio) taper potentiometer and often an expression pedal should have linear? In my setup today it is no problem, since my midi foot controller can manage both types.
BTW - These guys sells them with linear/log switch. http://www.thru-tone.com/Ernie_Ball_Exp.html

Agree both, Michael and Sam. The thing is I already have a wah that I like to use, maybe in the future I'll convert a crybaby.

I guess retrofitting any pedal with a linear pot is not too difficult. -

saw the tutorial: great and seems easy!
watching the final picture it looks like on/off switch is ignored in the wiring. this gets me to ask: is the expression pedal meant to have an 'ala wah' on/off switch? as far as I know there are no expression pedals with on/off switch. but may be wrong.
maybe some expression pedals have it to resemble a wah pedal but this will mean, for the comapny producing it, to do two kind of pedals.
I have my doubts since everytime I was looking for an ex pedals I never found a choice for the kind of expression function: the pedals were just one kind. The switch must be swapped with a push button . I ordered one one ebay (2.49$). As soon as i receive it, i will wire it, make some test, and post how to do the same.

I use the Mission Engineering EP1-KP-GN (with the switch)
Very robust design, matching color (not 100%, but close)
Requires a TSR and Mono Input on the KPA
The sweep is short, shorter than FCB, but infinitely better
I use it as a combined KPA Wah (switch on) Volume (off), it really works like a charm. The only thing I do not like is that the two inputs on the left are really close, so you cannot really connect two regular angle jacks. Without special jacks this pedal requires more pedalboard space than necessary.

Ive just been looking at this Expression pedal. Thanks for the little review. I like it because of the nearly matching colour, i'm a bit stupid like that i couldnt stand the the remote and a black pedal next to each other it would drive my OCD mad lol. so are you saying you have to connect 2 leads to the KPA for this to work as a wah and volume. Might have to go in my local store and try 1 as you say the sweep is short
-
This pedal needs two leads - one for the switch, and the second one for wah/volume.

Thanks Pault This still seems like the best choice for me, but I'm still not 100% sure, got get this right. me thinks

That's one of the things putting holding me back on this

I'm sure it's the same as a Crybaby, as it fits that form factor exactly, as far as I can tell. The throw on a Crybaby is quite shallow, too. I'll report back once I've received mine (should be about a week's time).

I'm about to buy an expression pedal as well: looking at the Boss FV-500-H. Quick question though since I'm a noob at this: it has input, output and "exp". To just attach this to the KFC (or the GCP I'm using now), is it enough to just go from the "exp" to one of the pedal inputs on the KFC/GPC?
-
Yep!

Thx Sam expected as much, just wanted to know for sure.

I use the Roland FC300 with 2 expression pedals and love it. Can only compare it to the FCB from experience, there's basically no comparison, the Roland blows the Behringer away. The Roland feels like a real pedal, metal housing, built like a tank and never seems to fail. Probably why I see so many Roland/Boss pedals in this thread.
